Wow. Well I have so many good things to say about Kelly. I think the most important thing to me is that she is patient and works to get your dog to WANT to do what you want, not force your dog to do what you want. We introduced a "dynamic" (Kelly's description) new pup into our home and chaos insued. The new guy has come so far it's amazing. Yes he's still "dynamic" but now he's not a struggle and we are working on the others too. We have much more peace now. Kelly is not set in her ways, sticking to just one method for each dog, They each get their own plan and methods. When visiting our home Kelly is like an old friend that happens to know dogs, not a stranger that is there to do things her way.
Absolutely fantastic experience with High Paw dog training and Kelly! As the owner of three livestock guardian dogs, including Alynn (10 years old), Katie (2 years old), and Peter (6 months), I was looking for a trainer who understood the unique needs and challenges of livestock guardian breeds. While Alynn, our senior, was already well-established, Katie and Peter needed focused training, and Kelly exceeded all expectations. From our initial consultation, it was clear that Kelly possessed a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for dogs. She took the time to understand Katie and Peter's individual personalities and breed-specific instincts, tailoring her training approach accordingly. Her methods were positive, effective, and focused on building a strong, trusting relationship between us and our dogs. Peter, being a young pup, benefited immensely from Kelly's puppy training techniques, which were gentle yet firm. Katie, with her more mature guarding instincts, responded beautifully to Kelly's clear and consistent guidance. We saw significant improvements in their obedience and overall behavior in just a few sessions. What truly sets Kelly apart is her ability to explain the "why" behind her training methods. She empowered us with the tools and understanding to continue reinforcing the training at home, ensuring long-term success. Her patient and supportive demeanor made the entire process enjoyable for both us and our dogs. Kelly is a fantastic trainer! Super knowledgeable, caring and patient. Our puppy is a work in progress and without her our lives would be stressful because Bobby can be a handful. She works with us to create a fun easy plan to train our dogs. If you are looking for a positive personalized approach to training I highly recommend her.
Kelly has helped us so much! She is amazing to work with and very knowledgeable. She takes the time to explain what we need to do and how to be successful. Our rescue pup had a handful of behavioural challenges and absolutely no training. After working with Kelly he is a happy, functioning member of our household.
Kelly is the best dog trainer in Edmonton! I have worked with several different trainers and she is by far the most knowledgeable. She truly listens to your concerns and comes up with a well thought out plan on how to best tackle them. She absolutely loves working with dogs and it shows in her work. Our most recent concern was how our two dogs would be with our newborn baby, and she helped us so much to prepare for that, and everything has gone smoothly once baby arrived. 10/10 would recommend her to anyone.
