Both Hindes Fine Art Gallery and Hindes Academy deserve a 5-Star rating. After visiting the gallery I began taking classes at the academy. Both are located in one of San Antonio's elegant historic homes. Janice Hindes not only has the heart of an artist but far more important to me personally, she has the heart of a teacher.

Hindes Fine Art Gallery is a hidden gem with beautiful art of local and international artist. The gallery is a beautiful mansion that has been perfectly restored. The day I was there, an art class was in progress. I purchased four paintings from the gallery and they look beautiful in my home. Thank you Janice Hindes for letting me browse the gallery and take a peak in on the class.

Hindes Fine Art is a place that encourages and creates freedom, confidence, and camaraderie in art. Janice Hindes is a teacher with a world of experience, a wealth of knowledge and an unfailingly funny, accurate insight in all things paint and form. She can capture light in her paintings, and she can teach you to do that as well. Though I have taken art classes for many years, I come away from each class with a new lesson or two to tuck away, a canvas better for her assistance and a feeling of accomplishment. Her talent and her love of the arts provide inspiration for the newcomers, the professionals, and everyone in between.

The wealth of expertise of all the instructors at the Hindes Fine Art Institute is truly impressive. Janice Hindes, founder of the institute, has a great teaching style that inspires her students to accomplish only quality art work. Judy Korge, drawing instructor, is a kind, nurturing teacher who works with students ranging from ages 8 to 80. Janice Hindes has created a vibrant and exciting fine art community in the heart of San Antonio! It’s an incredible source of fine art instruction for beginners and seasoned artists alike. I've had the privilege of knowing Janice Hindes for several years and I have taken lessons from her since I was 13! After many years of lessons from art professors and participating in numerous workshops, I regard Janice to be one of the most knowledgeable and inspirational teachers in my art journey.
