I’ve been working with Elizabeth at HM Partners for the past 3 years for both our taxes and my in-laws’, and it has been a great experience. The process is very convenient. We can upload documents and communicate through their secure portal before our appointment, which makes everything feel organized and stress free. Don’t waste your time calling this year. A month out from tax day they didn’t prepare staffing wise and can’t prepare taxes for anyone new. They were polite and answered the phone to tell me they couldn’t help me. They didn’t ask for any details about complexity or anything, just no.

Communication and actually having my taxes done were easy. Unfortunately, when reviewing the documents before submission, I found many relatively simple but costly mistakes. I call them simple because I am not a CPA or an EA and I was able to recognize them. When I went in to review the documents with Olivia, she initially fought me on the mistakes. It was only when Julie came into the room and reviewed the numbers that she agreed with me on my corrections. I saved myself around $15,000. As a transaction that only occurs once a year, isn't it imperative that it is done correctly? Did they generate a document to submit? Yes. Did they do it correctly? No.

I emailed them and Elizabeth responded quickly, I didn’t have all my documents until April 3rd and my wife and I were going out of town and coming back to Sacramento on April 15th.
