This place has undergone numerous name changes in the last 40 years that I’ve been eating here. However, the food has reminded the same. Delicious 😋!!!! We stopped by for lunch on December 9th and ordered numerous dishes. We ordered shrimp fried rice $18, sweet and sour chicken $19, chicken chow mein Hong Kong style (crispy noodles) $18, and the seafood tofu hot pot $21 , plus the must have hot tea. Definitely a must try if ever near Alpine and Broadway in Chinatown Los Angeles.
Came to Chinatown to look for a place to eat lunch. We ended up here and ordered 2 noodle dishes - beef chow fun and singapore noodles. The beef chow fun was delicious and spot on! The singapore noodles were good but the roast pork was a bit dry. I also thought the noodles lacked curry but my husband said it was fine. The portions were HUGE. We ended up taking the rest of the food home. For the price we paid, it was definitely worth it. Waitstaff was quick and courteous.
Catastrophic. We came because of the good reviews and ordered a 3-choice lo mein: the duck was all bones — I couldn’t even taste any actual duck meat. The pork belly was cold, almost straight out of the fridge, and the ribs had more bone than meat. The lo mein noodles were all stuck together, clearly just thrown into the water and pulled out without checking if they were cooked properly. My wife ordered the beef steamed lo mein — completely unpleasant. The meat had absolutely no flavor, the carrots didn’t even taste like carrots, and the same issue with the noodles. The soup that came as a side tasted like fridge — clearly reheated in the microwave straight from cold storage. The place was completely empty (I thought maybe because it was Tuesday, despite so many good reviews), but everything was terrible. Thank God for the soy sauce — it helped us eat a little just to calm our hunger and not waste the $50 we were about to pay. Absolutely not recommended. Not at all.
Roasted duck is so tasty. Dishes are all Big potion. Fresh and healthy, not salty or greasy. Restaurant is clean and comfortable.
Great place for lunch. We were in a hurry and didn’t get a chance to try their roasted duck but the dishes we ordered tasted great. Not overly flavored nor drowned in sauces neither. The fruit teas were reasonably priced. The Vietnamese style coffee was extremely loaded with caffeine.
