Very disappointing experience at Houdini's in Bristol. We chose this location over many others in the city because of the very positive reviews. But this was far from what we saw. Arrived a few minutes before our booked time, no staff to be seen, we thought "ok, we're early, no problem". Booked time passed, no staff, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, no staff. Rang sign posted bell multiple times, no answer. Called the Houdinis help line, told they couldn't help and we had to talk to the staff at the bowling alley. Eventually a member of staff appears at the check in desk, very unhelpful and seemingly didn't believe we had been waiting. Turns out the bell was not connected?! Didn't get much better from here sadly. The new Sneaky Finders room just isn't ready for players. Many puzzles either don't work reliably, are frankly far too difficult (the staff member even told us that not 1 person had ever managed to do it and that was a game master) or are just poorly thought out. One of the least satisfying escape rooms we've ever done. A real shame because the theme of the room is great and the actual scenery and set dressing is well executed. Just not a fun room to play.
