As I was getting my haircut, I asked Danny, "mind if I ask you a nerdy question?" I get really curious about my hair, especially as I've been allowing it to grow out. Many stylists freeze up when I ask specific questions, or give half-hearted answers. But I'm the kind of person that LIKES TO KNOW EVERYTHING. Today, I wanted to know what happens when early-stage long hair gets too long, and how maintenace cuts help. Danny was enthusiastic about educating me. He even said it's one of his current areas of focus: how to educate his clients on taking care of their hair. After explainingthe concept of layers, he showed me just how a few snips made the sides of my very-straight-hair sit comfortably. I was kinda blown away. While getting my hair washed, I even had a nice smelling warm towel on my face. It was a nice moment to breathe and meditate. Danny made me feel welcomed from the start. He listened intently as I explained what I didn't like about my hair, and what I had it mind. He offered his expert advice, and was honest about the outcome of the options. He taught me how to style it, and I asked him if he recommended some good products. He did, and he also asked about what I already had at home in case I didn't need to buy something new. I thought that was really thoughtful of him I could tell he's just a truly spectacular guy brimming with warmth and expertise. Thanks dude! See you in 3ish months.
