We’ve been using Housekeep for a few months now and have been very happy with the service. The app works well, all the logistics are handled smoothly, and the messaging system is secure and easy to use — which gives peace of mind when arranging regular cleans. Our cleaner, Michelli, has been excellent. She is always well presented, pleasant, and extremely reliable. Although she doesn’t speak much English, communication has never been an issue and the quality of her work speaks for itself. She cleans our four-bedroom home in St John’s Wood thoroughly every week and we are completely comfortable having her attend when we’re not at home, which says a lot about the trust she inspires. Most importantly, having Michelli come regularly has made a real difference for our family and saves a great deal of time. We genuinely appreciate her work and hope she’s happy continuing with us. Highly recommend both Housekeep and Michelli.
I tried Housekeep for their ironing after seeing so many glowing reviews and believing their promise of sending “vetted, experienced professionals.” Sadly, the experience was dreadful from beginning to end. Housekeep gives customers no control over who enters their home. There’s no option to request a female or male cleaner — a serious concern if you live alone — and they only confirm the cleaner around 6 pm the night before. By then, you can’t cancel without being charged, and there’s no way to view the cleaner’s profile or experience in advance. You’re essentially left in the dark about who is coming until it’s too late — a real catch‑22. The cleaner (ironer) who arrived was polite but completely inexperienced, openly admitting that he’d only ironed his own clothes at home. The results matched that — uneven, patchy, and unprofessional. The bigger issue isn’t with the poor cleaner, but with Housekeep’s misleading claim that their cleaners are vetted and trained through an “8‑step process.” Clearly, that process doesn’t ensure experience or suitability. It’s like they choose anyone off the street who is willing to join and clean for their platform and like a lottery you’re lucky if you get a good cleaner or bad one, hence the mixed reviews. After several emails and discussions, Housekeep did eventually issue a full refund, which I appreciate. However, the lack of transparency, safety considerations, and quality control left such a poor impression that I won’t be using their service again. Housekeep markets itself as a trustworthy, professional platform — but my experience showed a company that fails to deliver on its promises. Proceed with caution, especially if you value safety, reliability, and honesty about who’s entering your home. Two stars because they did refund me.
We had a deep clean at the end of our tenancy. The cleaners arrived promptly, as arranged and was done to a relatively good standard, but not good enough by any means. The customer care service team were very helpful, Josef, in particular, however not at all easy to get in contact with. Eventually we managed to arrange for the cleaners to come back in and do a re-clean within a day or so of getting in contact. After the re-clean everything was great and we received our full deposit back. It wasn’t a smooth experience but they did resolve the issue.
Terrible experience, was sworn at, scolded, made to feel extremely uncomfortable in my own home! Do not book Doinita! I went down to meet the cleaner today. She was extremely rude. She was smoking outside when I went to meet her and was literally grunting at me. I said I was getting her the cleaning products from my car and she was extremely aggressive and asked what I was doing, even though I just told her I said you can start with the kitchen. She has spent 2 hours running the tap so I couldn't hear what she was doing. When I asked her which cleaning products she had used, as I had given her a whole bag of cleaning products she became extremely aggressive shouting at me and saying I've said you haven't done a good job. This is untrue. I just asked her a question . She has spent 2 hours doing the kitchen which is a small kitchen and was already quite clean. And the microwave and kettle are still dirty. She had headphones in and was probably listening to a podcast or her phone and not really doing anything. Just rubbing the tap! When i went to the kitchen she started shouting at me. I wanted her to do the living room and bathroom too which she has not been done. I asked her to clean the fridge, she started scolding me saying how long it hasn’t been cleaned for. It’s maybe been a month so it was due a clean but really not that bad. She was scolding me saying do not book me again WILL NEVER USE AGAIN Terrible experience. I have been made to feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe in my own home!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was my first time using Housekeep, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Marieli was absolutely amazing — friendly, punctual, and incredibly thorough. She took such care in every corner of my home, and it felt so fresh and spotless afterward. I was a bit nervous trying a cleaning service for the first time, but Marieli put me at ease right away. I’m so glad I chose Housekeep, and I’ll definitely be booking again!
