While visiting family for Thanksgiving my cousin was nice enough to take me here. This is a world class science and natural history museum. The Planetarium has 7 different shows. The Quarks to Quasars movie is mind blowing, especially for non science nerds. The Hall of Oddities could fill a whole day's visit. Make sure you open the drawers and cabinets as you move through that exhibit. The Hall of Fossils defies expectations. I recommend checking out the balcony/viewing area from the 2nd floor before moving down to the 1st floor exhibit. Arranged chronologically from the Cambrian to the Holocene, guests are treated to Trilobites, Synapsids, Dinosaurs, Marine Reptiles, Pleistocene Megafauna, coprolites and a marine specimen that has both trace and body fossils from the same individual. We took in the Tut Exhibit which was a perfect way to start the permanent Egyptian Exhibit. Tut was filled with replicas of his tomb contents and burial accoutrements. The African and Texas regional taxidermied animal exhibit was enjoyed by us both, but she's more of a cultural Texan than I am and enjoyed the latter, while I appreciated the former, especially the pair of Oryx.
We went just to see the Terracotta Warriors but, there are so many permanent exhibits we stayed 2 hours! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go again to see the other special exhibits!
it’s a great experience when it’s not too crowded. recommend weekdays. parked at this public parking garage for $20 it’s about a 5 minute walk to the museum. museum parking garage is $30. fyi. areas for insta worthy pics. dinosaur area is pretty cool. the line was about a 7 minute wait
WOW 😳 Fantastic museum 🤩 Wonderful displays very well thought out and constructed. I went to see the terracotta warriors which I had already seen in China!😎 It is a very well done exhibit. But there is absolutely no way to appreciate these mud warriors lol unless you actually go and see them yourselves. It's overwhelming 😱 I was fascinated with their dinosaur display.🦖🦕 Better than I saw in London!
Very impressive experience as I happened to see the show of ancient China Terracotta Warriors even though I had to purchase a separate ticket for this wonderful show. It’s amazing to see four visiting authentic terracotta warriors from China being displayed, together with many other items from the same age of 200BC. There was a real person actor cosplaying a terracotta warrior and taking photos with tourists. In addition to this special show, the regular science education show on the first floor is also very intriguing, attracting a lot of kids to engage in. Dinosaurs skeleton show is very comprehensive. When putting together with human race evolution from apes, it connects a long history of creatures on the planet.
