I had an excellent experience with Jerred when he repaired my sewer line. From start to finish, he was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. He took the time to explain the issue clearly, walked me through the repair process, and made sure I understood every step. The quality of his work was outstanding — the repair was done quickly, cleanly, and with great attention to detail. It’s clear that Jerred truly cares about doing the job right. He was respectful, punctual, and easy to communicate with throughout the entire project. If you need sewer line repair or any plumbing work, I highly recommend Hull Plumbing. Reliable service, fair pricing, and exceptional workmanship!
Their was no work done by Hull. I received an estimate only. In the pictures you see what is referred to as a 3 hole shower tub faucet (holes for one) So I am a DIY guy and I bought the new faucet set to replace the old one. I did the replacement and could not get water out when I opened the valves (after first going outside to the meter of course). This was my problem; no water coming out after replacing the faucet cartridges. What I did not do was to remove part of the old shower diverter (middle hole) see pics. It was stuck and had been working previously so I was just going to leave in and use that old, middle, diverter cartridge. Since the diverter had been working earlier, I did not see that as part of the problem. My problem with Hull and the reason for the 3 stars is the mindblowing estimate that I received to solve my problem. $220 to $615! I might could see the $220 but $615! I began to laugh when he told me that. Because I have enough common sense to know that was a ridiculous estimate. After Hull had left, I took another look at the problem and decided to go ahead and remove what was left of the diverter cartridge and put the new one in. I did just that and it worked! I am not a plumber and this is my first time with a shower tub faucet change out but being a journey plumber, with years of experience, you would think the tech from Hull (Jake) would be at least as smart as me and suspect the diverter valve as the issue. I had the problem fixed in under 1/2 an hour. I just shut off the water and dug the stuck portion of the diverter valve out with the aid of a screw gun (took less than 15 minutes) It was a very simple thing to do, even for me. And it took no time at all. That is why I began laughing when he said $615. He asked (since I was amused) what I thought the charge might be. I told him if I was doing it, $100 at the most; that would have been less than an hours work with no materials needed. I did call another company and told them what I had and sent some pics to them and they were puzzled about the $615; they said "what for" meaning what about the job would cost $615. They said they could do it for $220 at the most. Now if I was doing the job and was just working for myself with little overhead, $100 to do the job would have been fair; it took around 45 minutes to fix the problem. $615 estimate? Baloney...so I am left thinking in my mind that perhaps Hull employs greedy, ignorant (lack of knowledge) or incompetent, employees. I know Hull has good ratings but that doesn't change the way I feel and I will be sure to avoid Hull. 8/29/2025 PER RESPONSE BY OWNER There is no shower valve per se as mentioned. You can see by the picture there are 6 cartridges. The ones on the right are the old ones. The cartridges on the left are the new ones. The new cartridges were full assembled as you can see. Now the faucets were disassembled if that is what you were referring to as a shower valve. That was done to make the job easier for the plumber! I had already done half the work! And for the life of me I don't know why a totally BRAND NEW tub faucet kit estimate was introduced into the picture. I had a brand new one. Jake was informed of that. He was also informed new cartridges had been installed by me but there was no water coming out of either faucet. He was aware that part of the diverter valve was still in place (see pic) Would not a ight come on in his head that could very well be the problem? I would think he would be aware that a diverter can be positioned to prevent any water coming out of the spout. I would have went for the $225 but when he said it could go up to $615, I lost all faith in his credibility and I am being honest that is why I began to laugh. I meant no offense it was just a reaction. $615 to replace a diverter valve? Come on. BTW there was no halfway fix. Respectfully Lynn
