The classes are cool, but I noticed we never get accepted into a class unless we can afford to donate. They give a message of donating what you can or not for the Open art class, but anytime I have tried to sign up for a class during hard times, I am waitlisted even though I sign up at 12:00 on the dot for registration. When I donate money, the class is always accepted. I don't think it is anything wrong with wanting money for the classes, but it shouldn't be advertised as open if you all don't accept poor families. I've tested this a few times and I'm sure you all are immediately waitlisting people and then picking who you want for the classes. Very disappointed.
I came to the Art center for a separate venue but I absolutely loved the Art center and they have activities for the youth. If you have a youth that's into Art this is definitely a resource.
Wonderful place to learn about are and take art classes or see artists work on display.
At once vibrant, creative, and warmly human. Walking into HPAC feels like stepping into a living art studio, where every hallway hums with possibility. The galleries are electric—featuring a rotating mix of community-inspired installations, multimedia works, and emerging artists whose voices feel urgent and expressive. The space manages to feel intimate despite its size: cozy studio corners, sunlit gathering areas, and quirky nooks where you might find a mural mid-creation. Classes and open studios attract everyone from curious kids to passionate adults—creative energy that’s palpable and contagious. Community events like Cocktails & Clay or artist talks feel genuine: welcoming, interactive, and unapologetically playful. Staff and instructors strike the perfect tone—they’re knowledgeable, supportive, and approachable, never pretentious or aloof, helping you feel instantly part of the creative pulse. If you’re an art lover—or even someone just curious about what can happen when creativity is shared—HPAC feels like the kind of place you’d count on discovering in your neighborhood. Purposeful, inclusive, and repeatedly inspiring.
