Lovely place open and homey. Service was good but server missed a few things we ordered and forgot a drink until we asked for it. Food. Was good. The chicken and waffles looked really nice and tasted great. The Monte Cristo was not typical battered and fried. It was French toast sandwich. Chips they served with it was greasy and inedible. The biscuit and gravy was not very flavorful and biscuit was very small. Sausage tasted like jimmy deans spicy sausage. Portions were large. Caramel machiato was good. Expensive also.
Visited with family friends for Christmas celebrations. Atmosphere is great and great ambience! Looks South American cuisine. Heard great reviews but did not meet my expectations! Portion size are decent, bit pricey!
Came for my wife's birthday. Lovely atmosphere. Had about a 15 or so minute wait when we arrived. Food was okay. Quiche could've been warmer and had more spinach in it (was told there would be spinach in it but don't recall seeing/tasting any). Wife wanted the humming bird - she liked it but I wasn't a big fan of it. I did like the grits a lot, though. Not pictured is the chicken that my daughter's had - crispy and the hot honey sauce was tremendous. Dinged the service as the waitress was not very knowledgeable about the drinks they had, specifically the beers.
We’ve been coming here for years and Ida Claire brunch never disappoints! Having one of our favorite servers, Simon, made it even better. He’s always friendly, attentive, and makes us feel genuinely welcomed. The food was incredible—especially the pull-apart blueberry biscuits with the lemon zest glaze… The steak and eggs were cooked perfectly, and the chicken and waffles hit that perfect sweet-and-savory balance. Another fantastic brunch experience—we’ll definitely be back!
Came by for lunch after an appointment and was pleasantly surprised by how nice this spot turned out to be. It was quite busy, so we were seated on the patio, but with the beautiful weather, it actually worked out perfectly. The staff was attentive and very helpful with recommendations since it was our first visit. We started with the fried green tomatoes and biscuits, both of which were delicious. Our drinks were excellent as well, and I appreciated that they offered some great mocktail options. For the main course, I ordered the chicken and waffles, the coffee-infused syrup gave it a unique and flavorful twist that I really enjoyed. The blackened salmon, however, was a bit underwhelming. That said, dessert completely redeemed the meal. The “Vice Cake” (a stout cake layered with coffee buttercream, tobacco syrup, chocolate ganache, candied bacon, hemp seeds, and sea salt) was incredible, and it paired perfectly with the macchiato. I finished off with an iced lavender latte made with local coffee from Richardson, which had amazing depth and flavor, the perfect way to end our lunch.
