Thanks Cat! It has been 14 months since we took our dog to the Rapid Reset course. We enrolled with our 2 year old, Luna, because we weren’t able to trust her anymore. Our sweet girl was unpredictable around other dogs. Some interactions would go well but others involved horrible behaviour that we didn’t know how to predict or prevent. Thank goodness we found Cat and her program. Cat trained us to be more aware of possible situations that cause reactive behaviour and to notice the signs Luna was sending before she reacted. Cat’s ability to connect and explain the right approach to training filled us with hope for Luna. Consistently practicing Cat’s tips over the past year has made all the difference. We have built trust with Luna so she can rely on us to keep her safe. She listens so much better and looks to us to help her through situations instead of reacting immediately. Now, we know how to help Luna relax, we recognize situations that bring out her reactivity and we can intervene before her behaviour escalates. The time and effort has been totally worth it. Thank you!
I want to share how happy I am with Bianco's behavior after being consistent with the knowledge that Cat gave us in the lessons she provided for reactive dogs. Bianco is no longer barking through my neighbors' fence. Bianco is enjoying walking and not pulling on his leash. I am proud of him and even myself for persevering in his learning. Moreover, my other dog, Lulu, is gaining more confidence in herself while walking. We are still working with her, but she is doing 70% better.
Cat is awesome! She has tons of knowledge and we’ve learned so much about our dog these past few weeks. You can definitely tell she cares a lot and puts tons of time and work into her job. We really appreciate all she’s done. Thanks again for everything you’ve done for us and for Loki
I can’t recommend Cat enough. The whole experience has been amazing and she’s had such a huge impact in my dog’s life and well being. Barry was diagnosed with double elbow displasia at the age of 1 and half years. He was (and still is) the most loving dog a person could have. He became aggressive/reactive because of his pain pre diagnosis and after surgery. Cat was recommended through a community of dog owners that were able to advise he wasn’t aggressive in nature, but that there were underlying issues. Over the course of our sessions, Barry was able to become more secure in uncontrollable environments and situations. She was able to teach me what to look for that could be unknown triggers or stresses on him. She is extremely knowledgeable and looks at the relationship between a human and their dog and looks for all the factors that can influence their behavior. I’ve learned so much from our sessions about why my guy is the way he is. She is also realistic in what they will be comfortable with in the future (off leash parks, day care, future siblings, etc.) I am truly grateful for the time Barry and I spent with Cat and look forward to doing group classes in the future. Cat just understands the relationships, the personalities, and the needed training.
Our Husky/Shepard X, Storm, is...for lack of better words...crazy when on a leash. She has always been amazing at daycare and at the dog park but on leash walks were becoming more and more difficult the bigger she got. We had tried obedience classes in the past, however, because these types of classes were not focused on recognizing and working with specific canine behaviours, these had not helped. Instead, we were just the embarrassed humans with our "crazy and disobedient dog", or so everybody, including us, thought. I reached out to Cat to discuss Storm's behaviour on a leash; lunging, barking, whining and pulling anytime she saw another dog or a person she was unsure of. Cat recommended the Feisty Fidos Foundation class which we immediately signed up for. After the first class, we realized that Storm has some fear and anxiety that was actually coming out as over-excitement. These classes helped us recognize Storm's anxieties and stress levels and work with them in an appropriate manner to help alleviate these in given situations. We were willing to put in the work outside of class and utilize the tools that Cat had given us and we have seen a huge improvement over the last 6 weeks. My neighbour even made a comment today about how well Storm seems to be doing when we pass her outside. Thanks, Cat!
