Veronica and Vivian are the most insightful and well-qualified trainers! They emphasize the importance of positive reinforcement and making the training enjoyable for you and your dog. Impetus has truly changed our lives. You begin to understand that obedience training is just as much about learning to effectively communicate with your dog what are desirable behaviors, rather than other trainers’ methods to force your dog to stop unwanted behaviors. They do not support forcing or submitting your dogs to be afraid of you We adopted a mixed breed chihuahua during Covid who experienced anxiety and a lack of self-confidence and Impetus has helped us turn her into a completely different dog with confidence that enjoys people and other dogs. Veronica and Vivian offer far more than obedience training. Our dogs also participate in agility, nose work, and parkour. Your dog doesn’t have to be a sleep all day couch potato! Our chihuahuas are confident and well-behaved that we take them on road trips and even on the plane for overseas vacations. Impetus can make your life with your dog so much more rewarding!

When training matters, Impetus Animal Training is the place to go. My dog responded well to the personalized private program that was developed by our very knowledgeable and caring trainer. They worked around my schedule and ensured that I learned the skills to support my dog. The classes that are offered are also very well organized, group classes or singles classes are impeccable. The trainer support the people and push us to become more for our dogs. Impetus Animal Training has grown their class offeringsbecause of the loyalty and love they give dog and their owners. The community that is being build by these trainers is so special.

I have worked with both Vivian and Veronica in several classes and private training. They are both outstanding and their knowledge of canine behavior is so impressive. I cannot recommend them enough. I have done nose work with my little senior girl and fundamentals training with my younger husky. My husky, Luna, had trouble paying attention when outside, and settling while I was working. We did some private training classes as well as the canine fundamentals class. The difference we have seen with her training is just amazing! I started with a dog that would barely respond to her name on a walk and now we are able to let her off-leash and recall her! She also settles quietly in the office when I need to bring her to work with me now. I would definitely recommend Impetus Animal Training, whether you need help with challenging behaviors or are just looking for something fun to do with your dog.

I can honestly say my relationship with my dog has gotten so much deeper ever since we've been learning with Veronica and Vivian! I love how they are dedicated to science-based and force free training methods. Some of our favorite classes include K9 Nose Work, Canine Good Citizen, and pattern games. My dog is progressing so much in his training and its all thanks to the trainers at imPETus Animal Training!

A truly wonderful place for training. We were very fortunate to discover Impetus shortly after bringing home our puppy, Charlie. We're quite certain he feels the same way. We had the pleasure of working with Veronica and Vivian for puppy kindergarten, who provided a warm, welcoming environment for not only Charlie, but myself and young children. They were patient, understanding and very knowledgeable. On a couple of occasions we've had the pleasure of dropping in for puppy play time (a Charlie favorite). The set up is clean, well supervised and a great way for pups to meet new friends and exert energy. Our most recent experience has been one on one training with Vivian. Getting out if the car each time Charlie can't wait to say hi to Vivian. Her expertise is obvious as we've seen great improvement in his overall behaviors; walking, dropping, leaving unwarranted items, middle, sit stay. It has been an amazing progression that would not be possible without their assistance and guidance. The daily session notes and videos are a great added benefit to help us with our continued training at home. Suffice to say we're beyond pleased with our experiences at Impetus Animal Training and highly recommend them for your dog training needs.
