The restaurant is decently decorated, but the service has a lot of room for improvement. The waitress spoke very quietly and appeared unfamiliar with table service. She also struggled with the register, adding another table's meals to our bill, though we fortunately caught the error. The food itself was okay, but I felt a bit ill after the visit, which raises concerns about the food quality. I will not visit again and do not recommend it.
We love India Gate Cuisine! It’s so comforting: the food and service are like a warm hug. Delicious and memorable. I’m craving it already and we had it for lunch today! Yummy! Did I mention how wonderful the service and atmosphere are? So clean, too.
We were traveling from Bay Area and were looking forward to eat some Indian Food. We found India Gate Cuisine and tried the dine-in option. We tried the Fish Tandoori, Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan and Seekh Kebeb. The food was well cooked and served. The Tandoori items were served with delicious condiments and were rightly served. Our desire for eating Indian Food was rightly fulfilled. 10/10 would totally recommend to someone who is looking forward to trying Indian Food.
Ordered lamb vindaloo, daal makhani, roti and garlic naan for takeout. $46 is a lot for disappointing lamb vindaloo when everything else was average. Lamb vindaloo $18 was plain red tomato sauce with almost no other spices, 3 small pieces of lamb, 1 piece of pure fat, and 20 pieces of sweet potato/yam for bulk. Daal makhani was fine. Roti was like a flour tortilla, not the style with many layers. I thought this restaurant would be less expensive. That's why I ordered from here rather than Bombay on the next block. Bad decision.
I've been wanting to try this place for a while but haven't because a friend of mine told me that he was told by an Indian friend of his that the food wasn't not good. I had to try it for myself and made my friend come with me. We both thought the food was excellent, and the fact that it's a reasonably priced buffet made it even better. I love Indian food, and this place did not disappoint. The ambiance is just okay, but the place was clean. I will be going back. UPDATE: I returned on 5/25/25, and the service was above and beyond. The buffet had just opened not long before, so all the items were not yet displayed. As items became available, they brought the items to our table without our asking. They also provided an item that is not typically served on that day just because we asked for it. I already gave it five Stars last time, so all I can do is say more good things.
