India's Restaurant

I took my cousin visiting from Mexico here as her first Indian restaurant. I had never been here, but I'm a fan of Indian fine dining style. All food was coursed out well and was served fresh. The highlight was the paneer tika masala. Very flavorful! The samosa chaat was tasty and filling as well. Unfortunately, the tandoori game hen and nahn fell short. The game hen was lacking in flavor and tenderness I'm used to having in tandoori. It also lacked the signature deep orange color, which made me question if they do in fact use a clay oven. The nahn was a bit burnt, crispy and didn't taste much like garlic. Wish I had ordered rice instead. The service was fine and I'd go back for other dishes. But this time I was left wanting more.

We had a very shocking and upsetting experience here on the night of 30th December. We had just begun our dinner when my 11-year-old son started choking on something in his dal–rice. He was crying and struggling, and after a lot of effort he finally managed to spit it out. It turned out to be a black plastic piece, similar to what is used in disposable takeaway spoons. This could have been extremely dangerous. When we informed the manager (the turban guy), he did not even ask how my son was or whether he needed water or help. Instead, he immediately went into defensive mode, repeatedly saying that he has been working in restaurants for 13 years, that he “swears by his work,” and that they “do not use any black plastic at all.” My husband then asked him directly whether they do takeaway from the kitchen, because the plastic could have been from a cutlery they use in takeaway spoon that might have broken or fallen in by mistake. At that moment the manager went completely silent — but still did not sincerely apologize or show basic sensitivity or concern for a choking child. We had hardly taken two bites of food; the entire dinner was still on the table. Yet the discussion from their side shifted toward the bill, instead of our son’s safety. Only after repeated confrontation came a reluctant “sorry,” which felt more formal than genuine. We were very upset and deeply frustrated by this behavior. For context, we chose this restaurant because it was late at night — around 10:30–11 p.m., after visiting Griffith Observatory — and as a vegetarian Indian, there were hardly any other Indian restaurants open at that hour. We trusted this place for dinner, and this incident was extremely disappointing. This was a very bad and very shocking experience for us as parents. If anyone else had been in our place, they would probably have recorded the entire conversation — but we were focused on our child. Finding plastic in food, a child choking and crying, and then receiving no empathy from management is unacceptable. We left without eating. I sincerely hope the owners take this seriously, review their food-safety practices, and train staff in basic customer sensitivity so no other family has to go through this. Dining in for buffet or getting our food by delivery, the experience and food at India's restaurant is atmost great and delicious. The servers are always attentive and kind. I suggest going for buffet to get the full experience and to try most of their selections of food which is all awesome. I've been getting delivery at this restaurant also over the years, and my orders are always right and always fast to receive. My husband and I usually get the chicken tandoori, Garlic Naan bread, and chicken Tika Masala (medium for spice). The Tika masala is creamy, just spot on delicious. The picture I attached doesn't do justice, sorry I couldn't wait to eat it. The tandoori is perfectly cooked to the taste. I've tried other Indian food around LA and out, and this restaurant is just great overall.

Superb Indian spot. Could tell immediately by looking at the quality of the menu. The lamb biryani was the star of the show but all the curry’s were good. The naan was alright and mango lassi was refreshing. Again the lamb biryani was spicy and super flavorful.

I was excited about this place, because I love Indian food, unfortunately it was disappointing, cold food, very spicy, the grill chicken has a peculiar smell and taste. They served us a naam bread that was old, cold and hard. Their plates was not clean, there was old food or something stuck to the plate, same as the utensils. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place.
