2 levels, really neat. Could use more places to sit. Little coffee shop on 2nd level; also a piano for public use, which is lovely but can be confusing noise because there is also store music playing. Escalator goes up but no down escalator. Lots of books both in French and English. Huge kids section with books and toys. Great selection of books and other things.
Very large two level store with an impressive book selection. Easy to get distracted by books you didn’t plan to buy. Also great for home and office items, plus a nice coffee place and a piano inside.
One of the highlights of visiting Indigo is the chance to hear live piano played by random customers from all over the world. It adds a wonderfully unique and welcoming vibe to the store. You’ll find just about everything a book lover could want; books in multiple languages, postcards, and stationery. There’s even a cozy café, making it the perfect spot to relax and spend some time. While the selection of French books is smaller than English ones, there’s still plenty to explore. Beyond books, you can also shop for home items like candles, casseroles, and mugs, or pick up toys for kids, from LEGO sets to traditional jouets. Indigo really is a place where every corner invites curiosity and enjoyment.
2 story book store with a lot of choices. I found the grade 6 workbook I was looking for. They don't seem to have it elsewhere since it's English. There's different sections, toys included and games. Etc. The piano player was a treat. There was a big lineup to pay on the first floor but with multiple cashiers, it went by fast. Unsure if there's another cash somewhere else, didn't check.
I had a very disappointing experience at Indigo Montréal Trust (1500 Av. McGill College) on August 30, 2025 around 6:00 PM. At the kids section (Jellycat display, 2nd floor), the cashier (white female, long curly hair) was extremely unprofessional and rude. When I asked if I could take an item from behind the counter, she told me yes. But when her manager came by and said customers are not allowed, she denied it and said “I didn’t let anyone in.” During checkout, when I said “thank you” after receiving my receipt, she completely ignored me. Later when I purchased another item, she looked annoyed, gave me a very bad attitude, and didn’t say a single word to me or my friend. From the start, we felt unwelcome, as if spending money there was a burden to the staff. Basic courtesy and respect are the minimum that any customer should receive, but this employee made us feel humiliated. I hope Indigo management takes this seriously, because no one should have such an unpleasant shopping experience.
