DJ Joey was exactly what we needed for my daughter's wedding. She planned it in less than 6 weeks which meant we had to trust others with some of the details. We found DJ Joey simply by Google search and he happened to be available.. super fortunate! What a great find! Joey basically ran the entire reception. When it came to music, he had little direction.. just keep it clean and fun. He more than delivered! Everyone from the teenagers to the grandparents were on the dance floor for 2 hours! Thank you!

Joey’s DJ Service was an excellent choice for our Durham, NC wedding! Joey was so kind and friendly from the jump, and we liked and trusted him starting from our consultation call at the beginning of planning our event. Even at that early stage, Joey was already advocating for us to have the wedding we wanted, sharing tips on how to structure the day so we were able to set aside time for private moments of introvert connection during a very social, family-focused event. We ended up booking him to provide music for our entire wedding day, from pre-ceremony music (played while guests were arriving and taking their seats) through the ceremony (including microphones for the officiant and groom) through cocktail hour, dinner, special dances and toasts, and the dance party portion of the reception. Joey’s attention to detail, including making sure he knew which specific versions of the songs we requested we wanted to play, and which music lined up with specific points in the schedule of events, was unmatched. Joey’s client portal made it easy to share our music choices for all these different parts of our big day. He paid close attention to our playlists/requests for the dance party while also mixing in some of his own selections, reading the room and ensuring everyone had something to dance to; this was especially impressive given that our guests ranged in age from infants to octogenarians! He was also sensitive to the nuances of a big family gathering: My dad and I don’t have a close relationship, and my mom and I did a mother-daughter dance in place of the traditional father-daughter one. When my dad put in a song request later in the evening, telling Joey he intended to ask me to dance with him to that song, Joey pulled me aside to make sure it was okay first before honoring the request. My new husband and I loved working with Joey’s DJ Service for our wedding, and we would wholeheartedly recommend this seasoned professional to anyone planning a special event.

Joey went above and beyond our expectations for our wedding DJ. The music was very important to my husband so he had curated pre-set playlist to give to Joey. Joey took my husbands playlist for the different parts of the day (pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, reception) and expounded on them! The vibes were high the whole day. However, not only did Joey keep the music and energy going, he was also very helpful as a wedding timeline keeper/coordinator. Genuinely, I think he was more helpful than my day of coordinator from a timeline perspective. To top everything off, his prices are more than fair. I would recommend Joey 10 out of 10 times!

Joey the DJ was absolutely amazing at our school event! The music and timing were perfect, and he brought so much energy, dancing and jamming along with us the whole time. He communicated with us beforehand, asked for feedback, and made sure everything ran smoothly. School events can be tough to manage, but Joey handled it like a total rock star. I would 100 percent recommend him for any event!

DJ Joey B brought the energy and kept it up all night! His love of music and curiosity of our musical taste was a fresh approach to other DJs we talked to. Joey attended our final venue walkthrough, and gave some incredible suggestions of how to create music zones and vibes throughout the night. He understood our vision and helped bring it to life! We highly recommend DJ Joey B if you want a DJ who listens to you and brings the sense of sound alive during your big event!
