My couch looks amazing! Great craftsmanship, excellent customer service and communication. Highly recommended. I'm very, very happy I made the choice to go with Joseph's!
These guys took an office chair I'd had for 30 years and made it new. Even though daily use and 3 different cats had destroyed it, it's the most comfortable chair (for me) that I'd ever found. I was skeptical that it would be worth it, but the kind and professional team at Joseph's gave me back an old friend. I couldn't be happier! These guys know their upholstery.
From the moment I walked into Joseph’s Upholstery on Pico, I knew I was in a real upholstery shop. My father Mario (watching over see picture) was an amazing upholsterer that would look under the chairs in the Metropolitan Museum in Manhattan and could take an old chair that someone had thrown out and turn it into something beautiful. I recognized the old heavy duty sewing machine on a wooden stand and the smells of the fabric. The beautiful, controlled chaos. I instantly felt this was the real deal. Eddie was great. He helped me pick out a thick wearable fabric that I will have and love for many years. The down cushions were getting a little sad and flat, so Eddie said he could plump them up with some down inserts which he did. When I picked up the cushions, I knew they looked good, but it was hard to imagine how beautiful my couch would look when I put it all together. It’s a giant couch which I bought for the comfort of my 6’2” son and the results are breathtaking. The last time I purchased slipcovers for my giant couch, nine years ago it was not a pleasant experience. First of all they weren’t nice like Eddie. They didn’t pre-shrink the fabric properly so it wasn’t long before the zipper in the back wasn’t closing. Because the fabric was so tight it was also hard for me to put on and off. The fabric that goes under the muslin fabric that is part of the slipcover under the cushions was thin and very shortly was ripped and shredded. I discussed all this with Eddie and this time we agreed that besides the pre-shrinking, there would be no zippers. I’ve taken a shot of the Velcro connect in the back which I love. The muslin under the cushions is a nice thick fabric that I can tell will last many years. It seems weird to even call this “slipcovers” since that hardly describes how substantial and fabulous this new fabric is covering my couch. I didn’t meet Juan Xiquin, but Eddie told me he’s the one that did the actual work. I’m picky, obviously I’m the daughter of an upholsterer so I had high hopes, if not expectations. All expectations were met and exceeded. Worth every penny. I’m so happy to write this review. I love my new slipcovers.
Amazing work. We needed 3 bar stools reupholstered. Joseph's was timely and very responsive. I brought in the cushions and fabric I wanted, though they had a great selection of fabric on-site if it were an emergency. It was done within a matter of days. The work is clean, and the details we asked for were perfectly matched (detail being the lip on the edge of the fabric) . We recommend this business to anyone looking to restore their fabric furniture. It was a great experience Edit: went back months later for another job, sunken leather bench, and Joseph never disappoints. Price, time, service and quality are A1.
The ONLY upholstery company I trust. No matter how big or small or special the project is Joseph is going to get it done in a timely matter, with the best quality you can have at probably at a more affordable cost than anyone else. I feel so comfortable around everyone and have even visited the workshop to check on my project. I can not recommend this company and the employees enough
