Kadampa Meditation Center is a truly peaceful and beautiful place to visit. From the moment I arrived, everyone was warm and welcoming, which immediately set a positive tone. The meditation service itself was enlightening, offering a real sense of grounding and centering that stayed with me afterward. I also appreciated that they created space for attendees to connect after the service—it felt genuine and fostered a sense of community. While the distance makes it a bit too far for me to visit daily, I would absolutely come back when I can. It’s a wonderful environment for both reflection and connection.
This is a wonderful center to help advance your meditation and/or spiritual practice. I spent a weekend in Baltimore, and this place was awesome. The temple is incredibly beautiful, and the grounds have been lovingly landscaped in cooperation with other local organizations. The community is lovely - a nice mixture of monks, nuns, and lay people, all very welcoming and friendly. It's also worth mentioning that there is a very good little cafe in the social area downstairs :)
This is a hidden gem in the town. A place to meditate and learn. People are so friendly and welcoming. Everyone has a smile , it’s so calming and so much of positive energy . Even my 15 year old fell in love with people and the food 😍 They serve awesome vegetarian/vegan and organic food at an unheard price - lunch costs only $7!! The cafe is run by volunteers. Everything about this place is magical. Must visit !!
Need some peace, some tranquility, harmony ....and delicious food and welcoming friends?? Get yourself to this little jewel of a Buddhist temple in North Baltimore. The meditation hall draws you to sit quietly, the fresh veggies from their own garden find their way into the excellent and varies vegetarian fare at the World Peace Cafe. Or sit outside at the picnic tables under the flowering trees -- a tiny spot of countryside in the city. I love it whether attending workshops or just visiting. Don't forget to browse the Shop for books, incense, and objects for a shrine. Any member you see is happy to give you a tour, explain the statues and pictures or just point in the direction of calmness and beauty. AND they are planting a rain garden to channel runoff on its way to the Chesapeake Bay. All are welcome!!
