The service was A1 from the beginning to the end. Thank you so much to our server Linda for the lovely experience. The food was amazing! Our table had the queso birria tacos, with a side of rice and beans. We also tried the Kala burrito. The aesthetic of the place is so cute! Definitely coming back next time I’m in town.

A nice Mexican restaurant in Long Beach. Festive atmosphere. Dia De los Muertes atmosphere. Food was decent, wife raved about Kala Bowl. I hade Chicken fajitas and I avoid carbs so I don’t get beans or rice or tortillas. I usually request a salad and they accommodated that request, no extra charge. We also just drink water, no alcohol so sometimes it seems like we get dismissed for no drinks, a little bit of that vibe here. Our food was delivered to our table within 7 minutes, lightning fast! Hearty portions. Staff was not very attentive to water refills, tip suffered because of that. Took awhile to get our check. A little loud but all in all a pretty good dinner.

Absolutely LOVED Kalaveras! Phenomenal tacos (especially the carne asada and chicharron), strong frozen margaritas, and a great patio to sit on. Highly recommend you check them out if you’re in the area, I know I’ll be back in the future.

ALL THE DRINKS were delicious highly recommend. As for the food well the chicken enchiladas were really good even the rice and beans that came with them. However the queso birria tacos were a bit too soggy when their best a bit crunchy. The meat was dry even when trying to dip it in the sauce it broke every time. No onions were serve with it just cilantro, radish, & some hot sauce. The tacos governabor were also way too soggy. Hardly was given cabbage for all three tacos it was more for just only one. Would have prefer the shrimp cut into small cubes though having three whole shrimp was more of one bite of shrimp and another of tortilla before getting another shirmp bite. (Not everyone can eat a big taco in three bites.) The sauce was really good, the carrots were good too I would have prefer smaller strip though but the marinated onion was indeed delicious. Service was really good 👍 very attentive and afford recommend drinks. Great service indeed. Atmosphere was also good had music in the background not to over powerful were you can't even carry a conversation with your group. Perfect volume and good music. Kept switching it up which I think is great everyone gets to hear at least something they like.

Not sure why all the bad reviews. We stayed at the Hyatt centric and kalaveras was a short walk. Everyone from the hostess,server bartender…pretty much everyone there was amazing. I’m nobody but I felt like I was somebody by the way they treated us. Food was delicious. We tried the quesabirrias and the tacos governadores. Both were good but the gorvenador tacos were my favorite. Also had a michelada and a drink called the vela which had tequila,mango,mezcal and other stuff. Both hit the spot!We had the flan which was creamy and delicious. Good size dessert for 2 people. On top of all that the decor was pretty cool. Worth stopping by and don’t get pushed away from the bad reviews
