I had a very disappointing experience at Kickernick Gallery. From the moment I walked in, the front desk lady was extremely rude and dismissive. Instead of greeting visitors in a welcoming way, she spoke in a cold and disrespectful tone that made it clear she didn’t want to be bothered. What made the experience worse was the way she treated me compared to others. Her behavior came across as biased and racist, which made the environment feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. When I asked simple questions about the gallery, she brushed me off and acted as if my presence was an inconvenience. Galleries are supposed to be spaces that celebrate art, culture, and community, but the attitude at the front desk completely ruined that experience. No visitor should be made to feel disrespected or dismissed when they’re simply trying to appreciate the work being displayed. Because of this interaction, I cannot recommend Kickernick Gallery. Customer service and basic respect should be the minimum standard for any public-facing art space.

This is newly refurbished, very large art gallery in the North Loop. Right now they have a large exhibition of local artists, mostly painters. There is certainly enough variety for everyone to find something that speaks to them.
