I highly suggest the KML School of Comedy classes. I took Sketch Writing I and II and I learned so much! I feel so much more confident in my abilities as a writer now. The lessons are applicable to things other than comedy writing as well. The teachers are wonderful and really know what they're doing.

Killing My Lobster is an amazing group of comedy writers and performers who create together, laugh together, and put on hilarious sketch comedy shows in San Francisco and throughout the Bay Area. Do you like San Francisco? Do you like Sketch Comedy? If you're in the Bay Area and you want comedy that'll make you laugh, because it's so funny, it hurts some times, then you should check out KML. Killing My Lobster has been rocking live sketch comedy in San Francisco for 20 years. My body physically hurts from laughing for 60 minutes straight after I leave the theater. I've also taken their sketch writing classes, which were incredibly fun and have made my professional writing much more interesting.

KML offers top-notch comedy writing classes geared towards sketch comedy. The classes are very hands-on, where you learn through practice and feedback from knowledgable sketchers (or whatever the appropriate sketch writer noun is). The shows are great as well. They always seem to be coming out with new productions. They're worth checking out, especially if you enjoy local San Francisco comedy.
