This is a wonderful art school! They teach both traditional and modern art techniques. All I can say is that when my 10 year old said she wanted to try oil painting her wonderful teacher Juri said okay! and that was the beginning of a life long love of oil painting. It is a non competitive, supportive and professional school. Adults of all levels also attend classes. Good vibes!

I am one of those people who was mystified as to how painters could achieve such beautiful results and was unsure I could ever begin to paint as well as the artists I admire. That all changed when I enrolled in the Kline Academy of Art and learned classic painting techniques. I was astonished by what I had learned to do and the quality of my work took an enormous leap. I got one-on-one attention from Cheryl, learned at my own pace, and I proudly display the works I completed in her studio. Being told that the third project I would paint was the recreation of a masterpiece, I was unconvinced I could accomplish that. -- but I did and I am satisfied with my copy of a Salvador Dali. All in all, it was a fun, joyous experience where I met a wonderful group of fellow painters.

I have taken many classes at the wonderful Kline Academy. I have recently moved out of state and just purchased a recorded class that I took in person some years ago - a great way to refresh the skills I learned.

I have been taking classes and workshops at Kline Academy for over ten years, and it just keeps getting better. There's a class for every level of artist. From beginner to intermediate to advanced, they cover classical, contemporary and abstract techniques. The instructors are professionals willing to share their knowledge and how it is applied. I still use the techniques I learned when I first started in Cheryl's Classical Painting class. I also look forward to the workshops which are taught by notable artists (David Leffel, Juliette Aristides, Stephen Bauman, etc). They certainly help clear the cobwebs!

Robert Szot’s first teaching gig at Kline Academy was a great experience. From the start there was a wonderful energy in the studio. A successful and accomplished abstract painter, Rob is also a personable, knowledgeable, funny, erudite guy who is an excellent teacher. He generously shared (!!) his original techniques for painting his layered effects with oils. Beyond that, he spoke about life as an artist in NY and LA, the business of art, and significantly, the emotional aspects of creating your own work, finding your style, trusting your instincts, and remaining fearless in the process. Our class was for all levels, and he was able to connect to, be present with, and bring his discerning eye to each painter and to help them bring something new to their work. I highly recommend his class.
