Our company hired Korey Howell Photography Group to take professional headshots for our team, and unfortunately the experience and final results were very disappointing. While they appeared to have high-end equipment, the finished photos did not reflect professional technique. Many of the headshots were taken from a low angle, which is generally not flattering for professional portraits. The images look more like casual snapshots rather than properly composed corporate headshots. Lighting was another major issue. The photos are very dark with heavy shadows across the face. Good portrait photography relies heavily on proper lighting, and this seemed poorly managed during the shoot. Instead of correcting the lighting during photography, the images appear to have been heavily edited afterward. The retouching also felt excessive. A strong warm filter was applied that made skin tones look overly yellow. Additionally, there was significant skin smoothing that gave many faces an artificial, “FaceTune-like” appearance rather than a natural professional look. Communication during the session was also lacking. A good photographer typically guides clients—adjusting posture, angles, and expressions to get the best result. In our case, there was very little direction or interaction; it felt more like the photographer simply pressed the shutter without helping people look their best. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and the final images required too much editing to compensate for issues that should have been addressed during the shoot. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company for professional headshots.
