Great tacos. Beans and rice not flavorful. But I didn't take a star away because the Lengua tacos deserved 6 starz!!! They are amazing!!!!! And Im from Texas...so that says a lot. I had Pastor...they were good as well ...especially if you like pineapple. Had real pineapple in the meat mixture. And the cow head...OMG AMAZING and tender and delicious!!!!! Took one star off from service because place was expensive, but delicious food!!!!! Staff friendly.
The food was good. It was a bit pricey considering the portion sizes. The service wasn’t the best. I waited about 10 minutes before someone came to take my order. The crazy thing was, there were 2 employees sitting at a table. I get it if they were on break, but at least say something. Overall, as I mentioned, food was good. I probably wouldn’t return.
I was recently in the Virginia Beach area and I happen to see this Mexican food place and decided to stop by and try it out. Upon arriving I ordered a basic California burrito. That being said it took around 25 minutes to get my order out and 2 people who ordered ahead of me some how got there order before mine. I didn’t make a fuss though no big deal I was being lenient. Anyways once I got my food after 25 minutes of waiting I went home and realized how small the burrito was for $18! For reference there is a place in California called Primos where they sell huge burritos for the same price, about the size of your arm. So when I saw this I was pretty disappointed. I ended up biting into it and it happened to be full of rice. Now if anyone has ever had a real California burrito, you know a California burrito doesn’t have rice in it, it has Carne asada, guac, fries sometimes shredded cheese, sometimes sour cream. So when I bit into it I was pretty disappointed because it was predominantly Rice, with a little bit of meat and some fries, that’s it. That’s why I’m writing a 1 star review, I don’t recommend this place if you don’t want to get ripped off you can get more at Wendy’s for the same amount.
Krazy Trompos is located along S Rosemont Rd. directly next to the Wawa. It is roughly one mile south of the I-264 interchange. You can access it from either side of the road by turning at the traffic light next to Wawa and go through Wawa to get there. Otherwise, you can turn in from the southbound direction of Rosemont Rd. My visit here was on January 14, 2025 around 3:45 pm. I am always up for trying places I haven't been to before. What brought me in was a coupon that was on the back of a Kroger receipt. I had seen some really good reviews overall, so that's what put me over the top to try the place. At the time of day my mom and I came in, it wasn't that busy. There were vibrant colors and such inside. It would take a few minutes to check out what we wanted. In the end, I went with having three Queso Tacos, one with Pork, one with Brisket, and one with Chicken. I chose that way in order to keep carb intake to a minimum. I added a side of beans as well. My mom decided to just go with the chips and queso appetizer. They were very friendly up there at the counter. About ten minutes later, the food came out to the table. Everything looked good, but in this case, looks can be deceiving. The chips were just falling apart and the queso was not thick at all. The queso was also lukewarm at best. The queso tacos I had looked good too, but they were also lukewarm at best. The taste of them were okay, but nothing that would give me a wow factor. The beans were good too. In general, the food reminded me of stuff you can buy at your local grocery store. Overall, there wasn't anything that would get me to come back very quickly. I was really looking forward to a great meal based on other reviews I have seen. Maybe this was an off day, but things should always be on it. I wonder if others have had issues in the past, as after we had eaten and I got home, I noticed that they have a message at the bottom of the receipt saying that even if there is an issue, they won't do any refunds or such too. During the time we were eating, there was no staff out in the main area. Looking at the cost, compared to other places, it was higher comparatively to the amount and quality of food. They were all in the back. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be in a rush to come back. There are many other places that I have had better experiences with.
Ordered this last night…I realize it was late and the restaurant was only open for meal delivery apps but the food was not good. I was shocked because everyone’s been raving about this place so I’ve been wanting to try it out for a while. I got 2 orders of 4 chicken tacos with the standard toppings (sour cream, cheese, tomato, lettuce) which cost about $31. Honestly, it was just not good. The meat was salty, the tacos were dry (hardly any toppings) , we asked for salsa and didn’t get any, plus our flour tortillas were stiff and did not seem cooked. Honestly I was very let down by this because the price and quality were not matching up and because of the local hype around this place. Someone please let me know if they had a better experience. Maybe I just caught them at a bad time? Hoping that is true.
