Had a great lunch experience here today, took family members here that love locally and were not familiar with this concept. Family loved the whole experience, enjoyed the food and were thoroughly entertained. Spent a little over an hour all together, ordered about 45 plates total.
Kura Little Tokyo is great for the experience. The conveyor belt, ordering system, and overall vibe make it fun, especially if you’re going solo or with friends. The sushi is decent but not mind-blowing. It’s good, just not top-tier quality if you’re really picky about fish. That said, the udon is super delicious and honestly surprised me in a good way. On top of that, the customer service was excellent and everything felt smooth and efficient. Solid spot for a fun, casual sushi run, just know you’re paying for the experience as much as the food.
I used to LOVE Kura. I mean, I still enjoy coming to sushi here but with each small plate of sushi (2 piece nigiri or 3 piece roll) being over $4, and the quality being mid it is hard to give more than 4 stars. .. it's hard to get a drink of hot tea or soda refilled and although I will still come if the line isn't crazy and getting conveyer belt sushi is always fun with the kiddo but it adds up quick and you could probably get better quality at a different place. Hate to say it because I loved Kura once.
The service was wonderful, everyone very kind. All the meals were amazing except for the sushi. It was an off night, came out dry and falling apart. I can't imaging this is typical, but keep an eye out. We'd try it again.
I needed a quick bite and a sushi train seemed like a good option. Luckily there was a seat available at the counter and I was soon coercing out the options flowing by. There was a good range of the standard and creative sushi, sides, alternatives and sweets. The sushi were fresh with the high turnover of a full restaurant. Each seat or table gets its own tablet for ordering and plate counter/disposal. When a dish is ordered, it's either delivered via the serving belt above or the robot, so staff are only there to handle what isn't automated. I couldn't or didn't see what each plate costs...?🤷♀️ Conclusion: an efficient service model that reduces manual handling, good range of options.
