Let me tell you a story. It goes like this: As I’m laying in my bed in New York, I have these dreams. Dreams of being back in California, where I was born and raised. And in these dreams, I’m eating the most delicious burritos (wet style) and drinking fantastic micheladas. La Cabaña is the fulfillment of this dream. Fond memories at this place.

I recently visited La cabana restaurant and had a disappointing experience. The carne asada fries I ordered was not only undercooked but also tasted bland and lacked seasoning. The presentation was unappealing, with the food appeared to be a kids portion for $20. Overall, the combination of poor food quality, uninviting presentation, and lackluster service left me feeling dissatisfied with my first visit. I would not recommend this restaurant to others.

As of Saturday April 5th 2025 the Menudo was awful. Usually it is very good. It has been my go to for menudo but that date it was horrible. Cut into small pieces and the flavor just was not good. Whoever made it that day needs to do better sorry just being honest. If there gonna charge almost $17 a bowl needs to be delicious

We stop by for lunch after looking for places to eat around Bakersfield and site was simply amazing. Everything from servers (very attentive and always with a smile) to food (delicious). They offer a lot of choices in the menu and wait time was short. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for Mexican food in Bakersfield.

La Cabaña has a very welcoming atmosphere very similar to Casa Bonita and food is on pointe. We got the ranchera steak 🥩 plate and seasoning was perfect. Our waiter was very attentive and remembered special requests we made on one of the plates. I also had the carne asada enchiladas with red sauce. Beans 🫘 were pretty good too! Plenty of seating even during peak hours. I’m coming back for sure 👍
