Our daughter one day looked at me and said “I’d like to learn how to play flute.” I found La Jolla Music and signed her up for a weekly lesson. I also rented a flute from them which was reasonably priced and easy to return when we realized this wasn’t just a passing interest (and grandma bought our daughter her own flute). Our daughter has excelled quickly and she loves to practice and fill our home with beautiful music. Her instructor (Goksin) is kind, enthusiastic, exceptionally talented, and brings so much joy to our daughter. The recitals that they throw are beautifully organized and well attended by proud family members and friends. We are so thankful for their facility, the staff and the love of music they bestow on all their students.

My daughter takes voice lessons with Julia Rahm, and she (we) could not be more happy. My daughter was planning to audition for a musical, and after just a few months, felt confident enough to get up in front of an audience and sing. The lessons have been incredibly helpful for her both technically and as a confidence booster. The lessons are affordable, and Ms.Julia is a fun person who has been very flexible during scheduling challenges. 100% recommend.

Mike LeBerthon is an excellent teacher and a master of the guitar. His enthusiasm for teaching and playing is inspiring to all of his students. He's positive in each teaching session and has high expectations for his students. As an adult beginning guitar player, I've worked with him every week for the past year and have seen my playing skills and understanding improve tremendously. I would recommend him to any beginner, intermediate or advanced guitar player- Mike is the BEST!

La Jolla Music is a friendly local music store and school with great instruments, helpful staff, and awesome lessons from teachers like Mike LeBerthon. Mike is an amazing guitar teacher—patient, supportive, and super creative. He knows how to make lessons fun and keeps things fresh by coming up with cool new ways to learn. Every lesson feels inspiring and something to look forward to. Learning guitar with him has been such a great experience. Having Mike as our guitar teacher is seriously the best — he makes learning feel effortless and fun every time!

La Jolla Music is an absolute gem! My kids take lessons with Zach, and he’s truly an amazing teacher. He encourages them to explore their own musical interests and passions, and he makes learning fun by jamming with them and teaching improvisation. It’s not about rote memorization—it’s about creativity, expression, and having a blast with music. We’re so lucky to have found this place!
