This was an excellent choice! The music was very good. The performance displayed so many genres and the performers were on beat and on point with everything. The atmosphere was lively. The drinks were delicious. The price for the sunset cruise was well worth it. The staff provided above expectations Cust service.
Captain Matt & his entire staff was amazing, kind and professional. Things they can definitely improve on would be the boat itself and the upkeep. The flooring is in dire need of replacement. We were disappointed in receiving little tiny salads that weren’t even full and served in a plastic bowl the moment we got on board. It reminded me of waiting in a cafeteria line. A much better option would have been being served a salad at our table in actual bowls instead of plastic. This particular dinner cruise was surf and turf. It consisted of prime rib and shrimp, “3 shrimp” each to be exact. They also had ribs but ran out of those shortly after the trip started. Or daughter is vegan so she was offered spaghetti squash and veggies. It was nice they had that option but it certainly was not worth $85.00 like our surf & turf meals. There is one pointer for the very kind & hardworking chef. He could have removed/trimmed the fat from the prime rib prior to serving it. The additional sides of scalloped potatoes and vegetables were very good. Last but not least, the deserts was extremely tasty and delicious. I wrote my review to be completely transparent and honest in hopes they make the necessary changes so that people look forward to coming back. They are a great group of people and we want them all to be successful. Let’s hope the owners consider the suggestions, by making improvements in the very near future, so that they perform at a 100% success rate. The views were beautiful and the boat ride was as smooth as can be.
Lake Pleasant Cruises offers a few different types of cruises which are perfect for a unique date idea or family day out. We went on one of their Narrated sightseeing tours. The cruise lasts for an hour and a half & covers about ten miles of the lake. While you are cruising around the lake the captain will talk to you about the lake itself along with some of the local wildlife & plant life that can be found at the lake. It is highly recommended that you arrive at least forty-five minutes before your cruise time, this is to ensure you make it to the boat on time. The closest parking to the marina is a 5-10 minutes walk depending on how fast you walk so they have a shuttle service to pick up passengers. Each cart can hold up to five people so it may take a few trips to get everyone down to the marina. All of the shuttle drivers were friendly & the short ride was enjoyable. The boat is quite large & has two levels where you can enjoy the views. You can choose to be on the upper level which is open or the lower level which is inside. On the lower level you will also find a small bar which has alcoholic drinks, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks available for purchase. Everything was very reasonably priced. There are also two bathrooms and a small sitting/standing area on the front of the boat. The seating was comfortable & they offered plenty of space for everyone on board not to feel cramped. Once the boat takes off from port, you are able to get up and walk around to see views from all sides of the boat. Plenty of people walked out onto the front of the boat to take in the views & for the amazing photo opportunities as well. We really enjoyed the cruise, the boat ride was quite relaxing and the time flew by. We enjoyed hearing all of the facts about the lake & learning about the wildlife including the fact that sometimes you'll see the wild deer swimming in the lake to reach the islands in the middle where they will live for a short period of time. During the cruise we were able to spot plenty of ducks, seagulls and even a bald eagle. We were also to see a ton of sail boats who were out enjoying the lake that day & if you get lucky enough, you might even get to see them race. Depending on what time of the year you take a cruise, there are chances to see the wild burro, mule deer, blue herons and more. During the cruise, my son had the chance to go up to the top deck & into the captains quarters to meet the captain & was even able to use the steering wheel. He really enjoyed the opportunity. After disembarking from your trip, there is a restaurant at the marina along with a gift shop & more so there is no need to rush back home.
The trip was lovely! Parking was easy and the shuttle picked up and dropped off my family—including children, older folks, and someone with a knee injury—within steps of the boat. We arrived early (as instructed), but the line for the boat was in direct sunlight, which was… uncomfortable. Providing some shade or advising guests to bring an umbrella for shade would be nice. Once aboard, the trip was great! There is not a bad seat in the house, the food was amazing, the bartenders moved the line quickly, and the service was excellent. The boat was very stable, but I could still feel minor water turbulence. All the people onboard were nice, guests and staff alike. The sunset was beautiful and we saw blue herons nesting and a herd of wild donkeys. I hadn’t even known wild donkeys were a thing! Overall it was a wonderful experience and we have a fantastic new memory!
There's only a short time left to get out on a Lake Pleasant cruise before the summer heat bears down on us. Choose between a sightseeing cruise, live music brews cruise, sunset dinner cruise, or live music sunset cruises. The cruises run Wednesday thru Sunday in May. I took my mom for a mother/daughter adventure on a Wednesday afternoon sightseeing cruise. You'll park at Pleasant Harbor and hop a ride down the docks on a shuttle cart (bring some cash for tips). We arrived early to enjoy lunch and drinks at Dillon's before our 2pm cruise. Check in 30 minutes prior and then set off for 90 minutes on the water. Adults are $30, kids $15, toddlers free. On the boat, you can sit inside on the main level or up top and outside. Grab some snacks and a beverage from the bar to really luxuriate. The captain narrates the cruise and gives great information about the lake, the dam, and the wildlife. As for wildlife, we saw a few bird species and wild burros on shore. It was such a peaceful afternoon and a great time together. Check out @msbusyblonde on Instagram for more AZ fun
