My broken computer was repaired with love! It functions like a new product. I am very happy with the service I received.
Until this date I haven’t heard back from them in regards to a hard drive I took to get fixed. The communication around the repair was very poor and instead of telling me that they couldn’t do anything about it, they just stopped messaging me even after I told them that I was taking other steps to recover what I needed from my hard drive and during the whole process I was the one who always had to reach out, they would say they’d check in after they would “try something else” and it would take 2/3 days but never reached out.Not only that, but I haven’t even been told when I can go pick up my hard drive so I just assume I’m not getting that back anymore, so now I’m down 200 bucks and a hard drive. I know they have raving reviews so maybe I’m just the exception but it sucks to not even know what happened to my drive. I’m sure they’re good with laptop repairs but I wouldn’t recommend taking your hard drive to get fixed if that’s something you need.
Lovely team of folks who got the job done fast at a great cost. Accessed locked laptop and extracted data on usb. Very patient and kind when I was asking stupid questions. Highly recommend!
I've been meaning to write this review for a while because the people who work here deserve the praise. Months ago, my laptop fans died, and I needed to get them replaced, so I decided to bring my device and the fans here because I didn't feel comfortable doing the work on my own. Corey was the person who worked on my device, and I deeply appreciate the work he did; not only going above and beyond to make sure everything is working properly for my device, but even staying late to finish the work on my laptop before the weekend and going out of his way to help me with a couple smaller issues, like my screen colors not being accurate to how they should be. Genuinely, I can not recommend this place enough. They're fair, hard working, and generally friendly. I've recommended it to friends and family with pc issues, and they parrot the same thing to me. They were very happy with their service and spoke highly of the customer support. So, if you're having pc troubles, I recommend Laptop Repair Denver, you won't leave dissapointed.
I am usually an incredibly patient and understanding person, however, I’ve had issue after issue with LRD. I was a first year student this fall and spring semester and I was using a 2.5 year old Lenovo Legion. In December, my computer started having some shut down issues when it was moved so, I went to the repair center recommended by CU Boulder. I am a student with a very computer-oriented degree so, I need a heavy-duty laptop for pretty much every class. I decided to drop off the laptop in person (I figured I didn’t want to pay for shipping and I could do some homework on the bus) and was told the diagnostic would be finished within the next seven business days—completely understandable. I dropped it off on a Friday and it was done within 12 days (not business). They said it was an issue with my WiFi Card. Cool, I approved the repair. I picked it up almost a month after I had first dropped it off, and went to Union Station on my way back to Boulder. I had time to kill so I turned the laptop on to get some homework done and it was STILL shutting down but, even more often and for more reasons. I dropped it off again a month later for a second repair. I dropped it off before spring break and was told it would take just a few days. I got it when I was back from break. It worked fine. Shut down once in the following days but I was so tired of having my computer be out of order I just left it alone. I had gotten about 24-48 hours of use out of the computer before I heard a pop and it started smoking. It smelled like fireworks. I didn’t contact DLR because again, I was tired of going back and forth with DLR and I was heading home for summer break. I am not in state. I had a family member who works on laptops at home look at it. We opened it and replaced the battery which was surely broken and found that the WiFi card that they had replaced was not OEM grade (which was around $35-45 on Lenovo’s parts website). Instead, when my family member looked it up, it was a $15 off brand part that anyone could buy from amazon. There were a few other issues in addition to this that I believe caused my laptop battery or battery port to start smoking that may have been caused by LRD. Additionally, I was told the laptop had been cleaned in LRD’s repair endeavors but when I opened it up, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since I had bought the computer and it looked like it had sat open with the cover off in the shop. I have spent a lot of money and time waiting for my computer to just work again and I am very very tired of dealing with these issues. I’m getting a new computer at this point but I just wanted to put a review up so other students have a better understanding of this company or the company itself reflects on the employees and the quality of materials and parts used. I am very disappointed and would not recommend Laptop Repair Denver. I am also very disappointed that CU Boulder itself recommended this place to me. Attached is a photo of the WiFi-Card that they put in as well as a photo of the WiFi card that should have been used.
