A great place to start, I joined in November 2024, where I weighed 228 the heaviest I had been in my life. I had never done any combat sports, aside from wrestling in high school where I suffered a neck injury putting me off for 6 months, so I was weary of doing anything with physical contact, but realized that I couldn't let my own fears hold me back. I am pretty good at de-escalation, but have run into situations where that wasn't an option. I joined to be able to stand my ground if I ever needed to do so in the future, and/or protect anyone if needed, and to get into the shape needed for it. I started with Muay Thai. It was brutal on my body, but was able to get used to it. The coaching is very tough love, but it helped harden myself which is needed. In the next months I branched out to the MMA classes introducing some grappling where I was introduced to BJJ. I ended really enjoying it and forced my body to do Muay Thai, BJJ, and MMA. I also enjoyed the Saturday fight classes where you put everything you learn throughout the week into a live setting, and see if your body is able to execute under pressure. I was able to go from 228 to 185 really strengthening my core to be in the shape needed to proficient. I challenged myself to enter a competition to gauge where I was at, where I learned the biggest lesson. The courage needed to face adversity, and the physical and mental preparation that came with it. Although, I have been only training for a year I have a new sense of confidence not just physically, but has influenced me professionally to make better decisions under pressure in the work place. It is mentally challenging as a beginner to constantly fail for weeks if not months, but with the right determination you will surprise yourself. I am very happy to have signed up when I did, as it has changed my life drastically. All the coaches, make it a welcoming place to learn, challenge, and grow.

Been coming here consistently for a year & a half & it’s my second home. I moved to Vegas March ‘24 & 3 weeks later did a trial class & ended up loving it. Also, I love my gym community, they’re always super uplifting & always pushing me for improvement. I highly recommend females to train as well!! Stepped out of my comfort zone one time & I’m still here training 💪🏼

I am writing to express my concerns regarding my daughter’s experience at this facility. Initially, she participated in a free trial class, which she enjoyed. However, I later realized that the warm and welcoming atmosphere was not genuine. After enrolling her, I had the opportunity to meet the owner, and I found his demeanor to be quite troubling. He appears to react defensively to honest feedback, often taking to social media to address grievances rather than engaging in constructive dialogue. During my visits, I observed instances where the owner spoke unkindly to the children, particularly the boys, which I found disheartening. The environment seems unsuitable for fostering a positive experience for young learners, and I noticed a pattern of confrontational behavior among some of the students, which differs significantly from the inclusive atmosphere at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. On one occasion, I witnessed the owner’s wife filming the class while he displayed a caring attitude. However, once the camera was off, he resorted to yelling and belittling the children. I know many parents have raised similar concerns, yet the owner's response has often been dismissive or defensive. As parents, we must advocate for our children's well-being. I believe it is our responsibility to voice our concerns when we observe behavior that may be detrimental to their development. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this facility. RUN...

He is not called Coach for nothing. His credentials are solid. He is friendly, but tough. And tough is what you need to be to survive on the street. I have years of martial arts experience, but Coach is the real deal. Do not come to class and expect to be Babied. Other students like Devonte and Jamal are helpful but straightforward. Judy at the front desk is friendly and helpful.

My son has been coming here for 1.5 years, amazing staff with real experience. You have real talented fighters teaching these classes. They don’t sugar coat anything, if you’re not putting in the work they will call you out. A true fight/training gym. Thursday sparring for the teens is an awesome experience as a parent and confidence builder for your young one.
