February 23, 2026 Kevin Bessant defended my 25-year-old grandson and his godmother in an assault and battery case in the city of Livonia. The judge was dirty the detective was dirty the Livonia Police were dirty and the prosecutor was dirty. My grandson and his godmother went up against an all white jury of 6 men and women. Even though my grandson and his godmother did not initiate the altercation, the white couple did, it didn't matter to the judge. The judge instructed the all white male and female jurors that they could not consider assault and battery as a defense when deliberating to convict my grandson and his godmother. It look like it was going to be a sure thing for them to serve time for an assault they did not initiate. BUT GOD!!! Would have the last say. Every roadblock the prosecutor and the judge through in front of Kevin, God showed Kevin how to navigate around those roadblocks. God used the plaintiffs Witnesses who did the assault and who were supposed to be the prosecutors witnesses as well God used them against the prosecutor and the witness. A trial that the judge said he would give two days to be litigated decided to change it to one day he rushed the trial. He gave the jurors instructions. at 5:40 they left the courtroom to deliberate and within 20 minutes at 6:00 p.m. they had a verdict: NOT GUILTY!!! Kevin's closing arguments to the jurors were impactful and these Six White jurors saw right through the dirty judge the dishonest prosecutor and Detective. There are still white people who are tired of the racism and these people saw through the lies. I am very proud of Kevin I was extremely impressed with his defense and I recommend him highly to anyone who is looking for a defense attorney he was calm collected and patient Please let me state that we had fired two attorneys who did not believe in my grandson's innocence before retaining Kevin. Kevin was affordable and worked with my family as far as retaining him

Mr. Bessant NEVER let me, my son and my sister feel discouraged from the beginning. I felt so at ease with placing this case in his hands and letting him DO HIS JOB!!!
