I have nothing to say about the atmosphere it’s a great place to have fun with friends but it doesn’t make it fun when you’re waiting at the table for a controller for over an hour you have already ordered your drinks and food that also takes a WHILE to come and i wish anything on that table tasted good, i understand it’s Bar/Pub food but it’s not even acceptable tho. pizza’s are overly oily and the chicken tenders we ordered that batter whatever you guys are using is just bad that chicken was so dry i didn’t even take a picture of that because we just put it aside after a bite. They don’t have Redbull/Monster they have this one energy drink called Wide eye or something like that it just tastes so bad. they also charged my friend that didn’t order anything and just played because they had allergies and couldn’t eat anything off the menu not because they didn’t want to eat they charger them 3$ for NO PURCHASE. HELLOOO? 3 people on that same table ordered already the bill all together was over 200$ and you’re still charging 3$ for someone who didn’t order anything on top of the 9$ game fee. Anyway overall weird. the waitress just forgot about us at some point overall experience was 6/10 and that’s only because of the gaming part.
Amazing game choices, servers knew some of the games and were sometimes around for orders, the atmosphere is always great. If you go later in the day (after 3pm), make sure you have a reservation. Great for groups or even just couples. Fun for all ages. Well worth it if you like games!
Super cute place with great selection of board games. They have practically everything you could imagine, we were there for over four hours and had a great time. I believe Friday and Saturday have a 2-hour seating limit so just be cautious of that when choosing when to visit. Food and drinks were good but nothing special.
We visited Level One twice during our week long visit to Ottawa. We’re a group of gamers from all over the US and Canada and we do meet-ups annually in different cities. We found Level One while scouting pre-trip and SO glad that we did. The menu is a little limited but that makes it easier to order with fewer options, just wish there were a little more variety. But the food is great, the drinks are amazing and well themed. If you like playing board games or video games, I HIGHLY recommend stopping in and checking Level One out!
Visited with a friend to chat and play board games. Had a lovely time. It wasn't extremely busy, but packed with families and friends who share a love for games. The food was great portions and the drinks were good as well. We got the Classic Poutine ($14) and the Sweet Potato fries ($13) along with Diet Coke ($3.85) and a Hot Chocolate ($5). I enjoyed the food, but miss the tray of assorted fries they had before. To stay and play, they charge $9 per person and you can usually stay the whole day - if it's extremely busy, they ask to limit the visit to 3 hours (I've never had them ask me or anyone to leave the two times I've been there). The service staff are lovely. They are kind, knowledgable and very patient. A wonderful staff member Emma, took time and care to teach us the game Wingspan, which we had so much fun playing. Emma even stuck around for a few rounds to make sure we didn't run into any problems. All in all a super fun experience. Really want to keep going back to try their impressive collection of games and even the new video game exclusive location in the basement floor.
