I waited a month to leave this review so I’d be less angry. Bottom line, we paid $850 to have our front door frame repaired. That was it. When Dror initially came out to inspect the damage, he made the comment to my husband that the door wasn’t actually an exterior door (it’s hollow), so when he quoted us $850 (WOW!!!) we naturally assumed it included a new solid exterior door. He may have even verbally said he’d replace it but my husband can’t remember. That price was also supposed to include patching the bathroom wall from the doorknob going through. Dror sent the “quote” to my husband through text. We failed to notice a new door was not included in this quote, rather “replace left door from”. Yes, from, not frame. I think we saw “replace door” at a glance. When he showed up to do the work, he said it would take 4-6 hours. We were upstairs watching tv while he did the work and were surprised when he was done after 2 hours. We came down to inspect and he confirmed to my husband that we owed him $850. My heart sank and I was very dismayed when I realized he did not replace the door and was charging us $850 for 2 hours of work, and that did NOT include painting, he reminded us of that before he started. I wanted to say something, but I was preparing to have major surgery the next day and was already upset and nervous about that, so I didn’t. My husband doesn’t like confrontation, he’s a big guy with a big temper so he wisely avoids it. I didn’t even want to remind him about the bathroom, he seemed eager to get to another job. So, if you decide to use an unlicensed, uninsured handyman to do work for you, please know that this one charges more for labor than even a high-priced attorney! Definitely make sure you ask very specifically what you’re getting, have it put in writing and watch out for typos. It is ultimately our fault for not asking more detailed questions to verify if that included replacing the door, but this guy still did rip us off, so I’m getting our money’s worth with this review. PS, even my neighbor doesn’t think he did a very good job for $850. He said, “Wow, he didn’t even paint it.” Our landlords gave us $200 off our rent simply because they felt bad we got hosed (they’re really nice people).
