Bernadette Fedec has been an absolute pleasure to deal with as a tenant. She is consistently professional, responsive, and timely, and always follows through with what she says she will do. During an unfortunate experience with strata management, Bernadette was incredibly supportive and truly protected me as a tenant, advocating on my behalf and ensuring the situation was handled fairly and respectfully. On top of her professionalism, she is genuinely lovely and easy to communicate with. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.
LJ Hooker were, until recently, managing our property for 13 years. We've never had any reason to complain about their services. We were also lucky with all our three tenants, who were nice and friendly, looked well after our property and never caused any problems. To our great regret, the last lease ended prematurely, through nobody's fault, due to the structural problems with the house that for various reasons couldn't be fixed. From our perspective Bernadette Fedec, the manager, did everything to help navigate through that difficult time, providing sensible and informed advice, for which we're grateful.
To the reception lady who was always polite and lovely — thank you. To my landlords — genuinely wonderful people. To my property manager… well. If you recognize the face below, consider this your public service announcement and proceed with caution ⚠️ I rented with this branch for nearly 7 years, and for almost that entire time I had zero issues. That’s not luck — that’s a testament to having kind, reasonable landlords… right up until the bitter end. I was fully prepared to leave a rare, glowing end-of-lease review. Unfortunately, as the tides changed, so did my property manager — and with that came the dark clouds. Enter Bernadette Fedec, and cue the Imperial March and play it LOUDLY to set the tone **, suddenly my once-uneventful tenancy descended into chaos. If you encounter this individual, please be aware she appears to have particular expertise in: 1. Encouraging landlords to contract out of their own lease 2. Requesting a tenant vacate with 24 hours’ notice after months of chasing updates on a roof allegedly at risk of collapse (confirmed by two professionals) 3. Gaslighting — Olympic level 4. Written correspondence (emails) will feel like gouging your eyes out with a spoon 5. Professionalism so low it should come with a hard hat — set expectations at the height of a miniature dachshund Mercifully, this nightmare has ended and I no longer have to deal with Ol’ Mate Fedec. That said, for two weeks after my lease had officially ended, I continued to receive daily arrears messages — while the office was closed. Day after day, because they were unable to end my lease correctly. A fitting finale, really. I sincerely hope other tenants under her management fare better, though I’d strongly recommend having a tenant advocate on speed dial 🙏🏼 PS: I have documented explanations, quotes, and timestamps for every point above — but Google reviews have character limits. If you want the extended cut, I’m more than happy to share the gospel of the unreasonable villain-type property manager. It’s disappointing that some property managers seem incapable of respectful communication while enforcing tenant obligations — and equally unable to clearly inform landlords of their responsibilities.
LJ Hooker East Perth, located at 30/82 Royal Street, East Perth WA 6004 Property Manager Jenny Gillson I was a tenant at 96 Guildford Road, Mount Lawley WA 6050, under a 12-month lease running from 13 November 2024 to 12 November 2025. On 17 September 2025, I emailed Jenny Gillson advising that, due to unforeseen circumstances, I would be vacating the property on 6 October 2025 and was seeking assistance with a lease transfer. The following day, Jenny responded asking if my friend would be interested in taking over a 12-month lease, to which I promptly replied yes. After that exchange, Jenny became completely unresponsive. Despite my repeated attempts to seek guidance and assistance with the lease transfer process, she ignored all communication. I made multiple phone calls and sent several emails, and even left a voicemail, but received no response. I also contacted the LJ Hooker reception several times, asking for help and requesting that my messages be forwarded to Jenny. Despite assurances, my calls were never returned, and I received no assistance from the agency. On 2 October 2025, after being continuously ignored, I visited the office in person and waited for approximately 45 minutes. Although I was informed that Jenny was present, she did not come out to meet me. Eventually, Megan from the office attended to me, and I again explained that I would be vacating the property and was seeking support with the lease transition. Due to this lack of communication and inaction, my friend, who was ready and willing to take over the lease, had to make other arrangements, causing unnecessary inconvenience and potential loss. I returned the property keys on Friday, 4 October 2025, confirming my intention to vacate as communicated earlier. Despite this, the agency continued to ignore my efforts to manage the situation properly. Instead of offering assistance or professional guidance, Jenny later allowed other managers to send threatening emails, warning that I would be listed on a tenancy record, rather than addressing the issue appropriately. They’re holding my bond and still asking for more money. My complaint hasn’t been investigated, and the only communication I’ve received from them is about payment. Be cautious dealing with them—they seem focused only on money. Money Suckers
The worst rental we have ever experienced. Constantly changing property managers (which says a lot). Maintenance requests constantly being ignored cant even bother to message. Put our own money into for curtains because when moved in they had dust mites throughout, holes in eaves cats living in the roof gardens were disgusting didnt have grass when moved in and I managed to bring it back. I did so much work on them and now they are trying to make me pay $600 and threatening me with breaches for not paying this invoice and only receieved it 3 months after moving out we broke lease because of terrible condition house was in we brought new toilet seat shower head changed fly screens shed fell down we paid for removal tree fell down nearly went through kids bedroom elderly owner turns up to cut with a $50 bunnings chainsaw so I did it all paid for tip runs didnt ask to be reimbursed and still treated like nothing and threatened roof was leaking I paid to get fixed. We use another Perth LJ Hooker to rent our investment property out and makes me want to change because of how awful this LJ Hooker has been!! Waterfall coming through kitchen dangerous alfresco that was being held up by guttering the list goes on. I have emailed them all this and just get ignored still havent recieved our bond back we always paid our rent in advance. Definitely do not recommend this company!! Very disappointing that its even come to me having to make this review!! AND THEY PUT THE RENT UP $100 for next occupants and its still not had the maintenance done luckily for the owner we left in better condition then when we moved in!! We have never ever had an issue with rentals before.
