Not sure what their problem was I dropped the car off after hours Thursday. On Friday they called and I told them what I wanted done/looked at. (Which was a diagnosis for why my engine light is on and to get the passenger side control arm changed) and they said okay, keep in mind that this call was at 7:30am. At 5:30pm Friday they called me back to inform me they couldn’t figure out the problem and that they would have to call me back on Monday. Monday I decide I want to get the car back so I can have a way to work and when I called to inform them that I was coming to get the car they inform me that they did not change the control arm yet. Told them that was fine and that I just want the car back so I’ll just pay for the diagnosis. after I paid for the diagnosis and they start “putting the car back together” all of a sudden there’s something wrong with the breaks and they are claiming that another shop did not put the correct screws in so it messed up the belt and swore that I needed to get this fixed. Also keep in mind they asked me if I gotten work done on the breaks before and I told them no …. But yet they still blamed another shop anyways ? Also the service advisor’s answer the phones and have the audacity to have a attitude with you ( the paying customer) because you want to know what services did the technician complete already to which they responded that they don’t know they’ll ask and call me back , I called back 15 minutes later because it doesn’t take that long to ask someone a question especially when they’re on the same premises as you. Moral of the story they didn’t fix anything on Friday when they had 9 hours but on Monday they apparently become miracle workers and fixed the control arm, wheel, alignment and caliper mounting bracket all in three hours which is strange because when you had more than 3 hours you didn’t do anything . If you do go make sure it’s for a service you can sit there and babysit them on.
LMC is always there to take care of our automotive repair needs. Timely, professional and competitive in cost to other shops, but they just treat you right and I’ve never left with a feeling of regret or being taken advantage of. Definitely recommend and will continue to use for non-DIY needs or when professional service is needed
LMC mechanic shop was very up front with the charges about how much the diagnostic would be. The LMC front desk send me detailed information regarding the repairs needed to repair the issue with my vehicle. I appreciate the honesty and service with respect provided to me. Continue the excellent work.
I initially visited LMC based on their numerous positive reviews, seeking a straightforward front-end alignment for my truck. Upon arrival, I was charged $50 for an inspection to assess the condition of the front end and to receive a quote for the alignment service. The sales manager subsequently presented an estimate of $2,400 should I choose to proceed with the recommended work. Given the unexpectedly high cost for what I had anticipated to be a routine alignment, I opted to explore other options. I located another shop approximately 30 minutes away that offered a complimentary evaluation. Their sales manager quoted a guaranteed price of $650 for the alignment. When I expressed skepticism due to the significant price disparity, he assured me that if they were unable to complete the alignment, I would not be charged.
I had a different experience than most reviews suggest. I came in for an alignment and asked them to check a suspension sound in the front. they came back claiming I needed almost $4000 worth of work, saying that essentially all my bushings and boots were ripped and worn. they told me they were only quoting the urgent repairs and that more work should be done but I could give it some time. this confused me because the car felt solid while driving other than a slight wobble at 65mph. I noticed at the time that they seemed to be double charging for labor, as most of these parts connect to each other. for example, the wheel bearing hubs must be removed to replace the control arms, sway bar links (stabilizer bar links), and the shocks. I also thought it was odd to only recommend changing one wheel hub. though with a projected $4000+ in repair bills on the horizon, these felt like the least of my problems at the time. I got 2 second opinions, including one from the dealership. both said I needed wheel bearings and front control arms, and all my boots and other suspension bushings are still healthy, I looked underneath myself and can confirm zero boot rips. (see attached photos and videos.). I had concerns about the rust, but I was assured by both places the parts were fine. realizing LMC had falsely diagnosed my vehicle was very disappointing, and I worry about how many others may have spent thousands of dollars on things they absolutely did not need. my dad was a life long mechanic, he taught me to consolidate related repairs, so I always research what parts make sense to replace at the same time to combine labor costs. because of how my suspension is connected, i am choosing to replace my front strut/coils, control arms (with added camber alignment bolts), wheel hubs, tires, and sway bar links (with genuine GM OEM parts I purchased through Rockauto myself) at a different shop, even though the control arms and wheel bearings are the only urgent necessities. my total cost is about $1500, including 4 wheel alignment and balance. I regret giving LMC $100 to look my suspension over. needless to say I will not be back. my advice? get a second opinion before accepting a repair quote from this shop.
