The sound & size inside the venue is good, as well as the ability to view the stage easily while having access to the bar at the same time, but my friends and I missed like a quarter of the concert we were seeing because of how long it took for us to get ushered inside once we got into line. Because parking in the area is so awful (there wasn’t even an overpriced valet lot or anything near the venue we could pay for, so if you can’t get street or residential parking then finding a spot takes a long time, but if you do get there early enough at least parking is free or very cheap), we got in line with maybe 20 people ahead of us at about 8:20 for a show that had a listed start time at 8, which means we pretty much got there right after it started, and yet we weren’t even able to get inside the venue until like 8:45ish because for some reason the line didn’t even start moving until like 8:30 (which also seems unreasonable for the venue to start the concert while they’re still ushering a continuous line inside). Then even once we started being ushered inside there was an unnecessary amount of checkpoints that alone added like another 4-7 minutes for all of us. You have one person that checks your ID for alcohol, then another person who checks your ID for the will call tickets, and then someone who wands you down for security, and then another person who checks your ID for literally no discernible reason, and then you’re finally inside. Again, once you’re inside, pretty cool venue, and pretty easy view of the stage despite it fitting a decent amount of people inside. But, getting out of the venue also feels like a bit of a fire hazard as it’s unclear where the entrance or exit is, and once the show was over everyone sorta had to funnel out through a smaller corridor and down a flight of stairs past where the merch table was setup which meant that there was a lot of crowding around the table since it was right in front of the corridor to leave. I think it’s a cool venue but it doesn’t really seem setup to be an easy time for attendees to be able to easily and conveniently get to, in, and out of the venue.
This venue is nice and cozy. I’ve seen a couple of bands here and the sound is legit. The bar has a nice selection of drinks that are priced nicely. The staff are chill and accommodating. Clean bathrooms. (speaking on behalf of men) If one of your artist performs here… you must visit. Entrance is in the alley.
I went there to see Baroness play. Great sound. Great atmosphere. Very cool place to play or go see shows. Not really that big which makes it more intimate. Parking is something thou.
The venue is the best in Los Angeles. The sound is like you're in a cathedral of rock n roll mixed w funk and soul. The staff are attentive and kind. Management is always responsive they get back to you right away especially if you leave your credit card I messaged Lodgeroom on instagram about my lost card and yep they had it waiting for me to pick up! Let's talk about those lights and sound combination my ears and eyes were riding that perfect wave!!! The drinks, the price is fair and competitive with all venues in Los Angeles. The bar staff knowledgeable of their craft and pretty stylish I might add. I think the beverage director runs both Lodgeroom and Checkerhall their sister restaurant next door someone referred to her as Boss Lady. All and all from ownership, management, sound, lights, food& beverage, booking agents, security, and staff this looks to be a family run business! Keep up the great work Lodgeroom!
First time here to see a band from Niger perform. This place is probably the best venue I’ve been too. We were treated like VIPs. Martin and Jenny were so accommodating that they provided us chairs to sit in and we had a great view. Martin offered us water and Jenny was the sweetest. It’s a very chill and relaxed atmosphere compared to other venues where securities act like bouncers and try to intimidate everyone. I’ve been to so many venues in Los Angeles and this was the only one where the AC blasting COLD. People were sweating and dancing but the ventilation is so well installed that it didn’t smell like anything. It was nice, fresh and comfortable. The venue is very nice and elegant and has this very old style. Had a full bar. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone who wants to see a band. Also tickets are sold directly thru them. No 3rd parties
