I shop here pretty often, but this experience has made me question whether I’ll be coming back. I was interested in purchasing a beautiful reverse-painted lamp. When I was checking out, the cashier started removing the lampshade and taking the lamp apart to remove the light bulb, without explaining why. I said that I didn’t realize the $100 lamp didn’t come with the bulb too. Then, the older lady then rudely took the lamp and said it was store policy that lamps cannot be sold with bulbs. I was told that it’s only sold with the lamp if the tag says it is, but really the tag should have said “NOT sold with the bulb” if it’s that big of a deal, so that’s very misleading. After asking to just keep this bulb because of the struggle to remove it, she offered to call the vendor to check if it would be okay, but complained about having to find the vendor’s phone number and seemed annoyed by the situation rather than helpful. I’d have no issue with this if the employees were at least friendly… It ended up taking three different employees to finally remove the bulb, and the entire time the focus seemed to be more on making sure I didn’t leave with the bulb than on providing any kind of customer service. Lol. Eventually, I was told by the guy that “any light bulb should work” and that “I wouldn’t even want this bulb because it’s crooked and doesn’t work”? yet, the lamp was working fine today and yesterday because I came back to purchase it?? I don’t believe any bulb would fit due to how this lamp was made, it was a very small space to get into. After all the pieces were taken off and all over the counter, I wasn’t sure if it would even work anymore or if it had been messed up during this whole thing. Seemed like something was going to be broken or lost. By this point, the lamp was taken apart, and between the rude attitudes and the hassle, I no longer wanted it. I didn’t expect buying a lamp at an antique store to be such a stressful and frustrating experience. BIG yikes & very disappointing with the way it was handled. I do feel bad for the vendor, as their lamp wasn’t sold due to the way this was handled and will continue to just sit in their booth. :(
So many things to see! Go and check it out; you won't regret it.
I normally don’t write reviews, but after seeing some of the repeated negative ones, I felt the need to chime in. I absolutely love this antique mall. As a local, I come here at least once a month, and it never disappoints. Anything and everything you can think of can be found here. The booths are very well designed and the variety is excellent. It’s a large space, so there’s always something new to discover. The vendors clearly put a lot of care into their displays. What really sets this place apart is the management and staff. They are incredibly friendly and always walking around to check if you need anything. They’ve even taken items to the front and held them for me so I could keep shopping without worrying about carrying everything around. Overall, this is a great antique mall with a welcoming atmosphere, great selection, and wonderful people. Highly recommend.
Well my husband and I wanted to come look around, but while walking in I was told “miss, miss you can’t come in with a backpack.” It’s a loungfly! Not a full size backpack. See photos for reference on size. It’s the bag I take everywhere with me. And go into all the stores with no issues. If it was a full size backpack I would totally understand but it’s my purse. I’m sure people come in with much much larger purses then my little “backpack” for me to not be aloud to carry into the store, it would be much easier for someone steal something with a purse then this bag I carry on my shoulders while shopping. The fact is I felt very singled out and embarrassed. We love shopping.
We visit this antique about every two to three months. It's one of the better places in the DFW area. It's had some renovations lately which opened up the back of the store. The area has the bigger items which are fun to perus. Staff are always around seeing if you need anything and super friendly. We haven't tried the cafe inside, definitely need to.
