I normally don’t leave reviews, but after much prayer and reflection, I feel led to speak up—not out of bitterness, but out of a sense of responsibility. I trusted Lucas Taylor to represent me during a very sensitive legal situation, and I now realize that trust was deeply misplaced. From the beginning, Lucas misrepresented the terms of my plea. He assured me that if I met certain requirements—such as a shorter jail sentence and taking specific classes—I would not have to face additional consequences like further license suspension or more classes. Based on his word, I followed through, even served extra days in jail, only to find out later that I still had to complete the same classes as if I had never made the plea agreement. The requirements from the state clearly contradicted what Lucas led me to believe, meaning I was either misinformed or completely deceived. Not once did I meet him in person—not even on the day of my sentencing. I drove from Illinois to Iowa expecting to speak with him face-to-face, only to be met by an assistant. He didn’t even have the courtesy to show up or notify me. Throughout the entire process, I was the one who had to initiate communication and follow up with him. It felt like he was hiding behind a desk the whole time, avoiding accountability and treating my case like a chore instead of a responsibility. Lucas Taylor’s lack of transparency, professionalism, and ethical conduct caused me more stress, more consequences, and more pain than I should’ve ever had to endure. I feel he took advantage of my trust and left me to deal with the fallout alone.
