If you need to have doors refinished, there is no one better than Derrick Luhm. Ben Luhm finished our double front doors when they were new 45 years ago. Because these doors are of excellent quality, and mahogany, we chose to have a fine furniture refinished do the job. They also finished our screen/storm doors. They have done work on them only 3 times in 45 years. We highly recommend their excellent work.

My fifty-some year old Pennsylvania House bedroom furniture was damaged by a water leak. After looking at a number of furniture restoration companies I selected Luhms and am more than happy with the results. The furniture was carefully picked up and returned about three weeks later looking as good, if not better, than when new. Because of improvements in refinishing materials over the past 50 years, I suspect that the new finish is much more durable than the original. I have a dining table that has been in my family for roughly 125 years. Over the years, it endured a lot—being stored in a non-temperature-controlled room and used to hold heavy objects. Luhm’s Refinishing went above and beyond my expectations in restoring it. They repaired all scratches and divots, fixed the locking mechanism, replaced two missing wheel units, sanded, and restained the table to perfection. Their turnaround time was incredibly fast—just three weeks from start to finish. On top of that, they handled both pickup and delivery, making the entire process seamless. We've had the table back for a few weeks now, and I still find myself admiring the craftsmanship and attention to detail. My wife's family heirloom grandfather clock was ruined by smoke and soot from a housefire a couple of years ago. The combination of Luhm's Refinishing for the handcrafted wood case and Brent Glommen Clock Repair for the mechanics (the movement) within the clock were the perfect combination to restore the clock perfectly! Derrick at Luhm's was so kind and patient with my wife as she requested very specific stain color to match our home. This was done via phone calls and text pictures from hundreds of miles away since we don't live in The Cities. He added multiple layers, darkening it to her taste perfectly. Once the clock was finished being repaired, along with a couple of friends, I picked it up from Luhm's to drive it in a trailer to my home in Sioux Falls, SD. Derrick and his team were so helpful, kind and caring for the treasure that the clock is. They made sure we packed it safely and then took plenty of time explaining to me how to run the new movement and to care for the clock. I highly recommend Luhm's!
