I’m not even sure how I came across Magellan but I wish I had found them years ago! My son has challenges in school but particularly with math. Unfortunately as he’s progressed in school, I’ve become less helpful when it comes to math. I was matched with Nathalie from the beginning and her profile was impressive, but even more impressive was the way she was able to explain and breakdown the material for my son and have the patience of a saint. My son’s teacher noticed an almost immediate improvement and for the first time ever, my son is actually gaining confidence in a subject he’s always hated. We have tried other “math focused” tutoring services before that were more expensive, less flexible hours and less effective. Magellan was so easy to set up, everyone is so responsive and I believe we were matched and had our first trial session within a week. Value is phenomenal for this area and in addition to my membership, I’ve been able to buy additional hours as needed (and they are worth every penny.) I’m not sure if it’s just my experience, since the first suggested tutor was literally the most perfect match, but the flexibility and convenience with tutoring sessions has really helped to alleviate stress of getting to a center during restricted hours. All this to say, I could not possibly recommend Magellan (and Nathalie) enough. If feasible, I would love to continue services next year when my son attends college.
