If you want authentic delicious Mexican food then this is your place! The Chilaquiles were insane good, Al Pastor tacos so good with lots of meat, the sopes also very good! I couldn’t believe I was in Australia and not in Mexico.
Dropped by for lunch and got to try their Mexican brunch options. Had the Agua de Jamaica and really liked it! What’s a refreshing drink with a hint of spice to it. Very enjoyable! The Mordita breakfast scrambled was delicious! The chilli bread was yummy and the chorizo, egg and cheese went perfectly together! The spicy sauce served with it just made the whole thing a delicious parcel of rich, meaty goodness! Highly recommend!
Came here for dinner and ordered the following from the menu: - Gordita: it was a half white and half blue corn dough filled with pulled pork and deep fried. It was crispy outside and a bit dense and dry inside but was balanced with the fresh lettuce and coriander, and the creamy ricotta cheese and sour cream. The side green salsa added a zesty flavour which tied all the ingredients together - Tacos Dorados: it has two crispy rolled tacos filled with shredded lamb, topped with sour cream and lightly torched cheese, and creamy avocado on the base. It was served with the same side of green salsa which was very tasty. Would pick this over the gordita as the tacos dorados was more crispy, creamy and cheesy, and the meat was not dry and had more flavour - Asada taco has a very generous amount of grilled lean beef topped with crispy potato straws and fresh onions and coriander. It has a simple salty flavour and the lemon added some acidity but the beef taco felt quite greasy and dry - Al Pastor taco also has a generous amount of meat. The pork was seasoned with a mild red spice, and the pineapple added a bit of sweetness to contrast the savouriness of the taco. Preferred the al pastor over the asada - Lamb Quesa-Birria taco was filled with tender lamb meat, melted grilled cheese and red chilli adobo. The chilli adobo had some heat to it and the lamb jus was concentrated with depth of flavour. Would be more enjoyable to eat if the lamb jus was served in a bowl that can be dipped into. The taco was grilled but didn't have much crispiness and the cheese was too thick and gummy Overall it was a pretty tasty meal with generous amount of fillings and toppings. Highlight was the tacos dorados. The asada and al pastor tacos would probably taste even better with some salsa to tie all the ingredients together. Service was good and the staffs were friendly.
I was in Melbourne for a day & wanted to make breakfast matter (so many good choices). I know how many great places there are that do a traditional ‘Aussie’ breakfast/brunch & also some with great (but kinda predictable) tweaks…along the very credible & delicious lines of Mediterranean or Southern USA bbq etc. I decided I wanted traditional Mexican for breakfast. And I found it! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The service was excellent, the food was beyond good. There are so many things I wanted to eat but I thought I should test the waters with an old favourite (with hot sauce on the side, of course). And it was VERY delicious. I will eat here every single time I visit Melbourne
If you're craving real Mexican cuisine and heartfelt service, this place is a must. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavour authentic (uncommon in Melbourne), rich, and beautifully presented. It genuinely felt like being transported back to Mexico with each bite. The tacos, the, the enchiladas, and the ceviche were incredible good! The staff were really warm, attentive, and genuinely servicial. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it shows in both the food and the atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!
