We visited for dinner, & it was seriously busy. Even with a booking & requesting a specific table, we ended up seated right by the restroom, even though we said we were happy to wait for another spot. The staff were clearly doing their best to keep up with how packed it was. The food was a bit of a mixed bag. The pumpkin croquettes were absolutely amazing, a perfect 10/10! But the mains didn't quite hit the mark. The chicken karaage ramen was pretty bland, even with the hell sauce that had no spice, & the broth had an unusual taste. On the other hand, the chicken karaage yakisoba was decent and definitely better. We had a disappointing wait for dessert. After asking thrice, & waiting 45 minutes, the banana fritters with vanilla ice cream finally arrived. A must-try, absolutely delicious. The place itself is wheelchair accessible, & the interior is really charming. They even beat a drum every time someone is seated, which was a cool touch. Overall, the experience was alright, but nothing truly wow about it. There’s free WiFi available as well.

We had a great experience at Maki and Ramen. The food was delicious, especially the ramen, and we absolutely loved the Hell Sauce. A big thank you to Tom for his lovely attentive service, he was so kind and even let us take some Hell Sauce home. The whole team was very knowledgeable and friendly, which made the experience even better. The only downside was the toilets, as most were out of service and poorly maintained. It’s quite a shame, as the restaurant has all the potential to be a very cozy place with lovely service and great food, but the condition of the toilets really lets the experience down. It was quite shocking, to be honest.

Food is to die for, staff are incredibly friendly and atmosphere is very nice. Even when busy, the staff are very accommodating and the atmosphere is lovely. We’ve been twice now and have gotten the Black Garlic Tonkotsu and Seafood Hell ramen dishes, along with Black Dragon Roll and Soft Shell Crab Roll and Rainbow Roll sushi dishes - all absolutely fantastic. I asked for one sushi dish to be packed and taken home, which the staff completed with ease. Cocktails and mocktails are also very tasty.

Seriously good ramen broth. As good as in Japan. My daughter had Tonkotsu which I would say is the best tasting soup I've ever had even after living in Japan for 15 years...."Hell" Ramen wasn't too spicy. Black Garlic was soooo tasty too. The karaage (fried chicken) was also amazing. Best Japanese food in Manchester.

Highly recommend to reserve a table as they were super busy. We came as a group of 7 for our Christmas meal. Service was great throughout. Friendly and attentive. We opted for their Christmas menu which was 2-course (starter and main) and a drink for £25pp. My husband and I ordered Chicken Gyoza, Chicken Teriyaki Karage, Steak Tatari Ramen, Soft Shell Crab Roll, Mount Fuji mocktail, and a beer. Food and drinks came at reasonable time. Decent portion. Flavoursome. Everything was great! Thank you Maki & Ramen!
