Very easy to set up request for quote for replace ballast and install Ring floodlight. Setting up appointment was convenient. Came later than expected but they called to say first job was taking longer but asked how my schedule looks. He easily reviewed the problems with the ballasts and took care of it efficiently. He reviewed options and fixed as I requested. It was a good experience and would recommend.

I honestly refuse to believe majority of these reviews are from people who actually used this company for work. I’ve had four different friends try working with them and we’ve all had different yet painfully terrible experiences. First off, I made an apt a week in advance and let the front office know two different times that they’d need two people to come to my home to assist with taking off and putting back on my 75inch frame tv. All I needed was an outlet installed. The guy came, by himself, and said he saw the note to bring a second person but they are short staffed. So he arrived and wasted both of our time? Oh but he made sure to say I wouldn’t be charged for the visit. Obviously, if you’re arriving and can’t do anything for me, why would I pay you anything? Given I couldn’t utilize him as he could barely hold half of the large tv himself, I decided to see about quoting me for other light work around the house. And by light work I’m talking about changing out ceiling fans, adding light fixtures (that already had electrical included), and under cabinet lighting installation which is probably the most extensive of all the little things I asked for. The guy emailed me a quote for over $12K.. I literally laughed OUT loud. Not only did they arrive unprepared and knowingly, but then tried price gouging me. Good luck to anyone who chooses to go with this company.

I used Malco Electric to address three small projects. I had an issue with bedroom in-ceiling lights not working (and had previously had another company out who couldn't solve it), flickering cabinet lights, and replacing old outdoor lights with new light fixtures. Andrew showed up on time and had exceptional communication and workmanship. All lights now work flawlessly and the new fixtures look and work great. I'll definitely be using Malco Electric again in the future and recommend them to others.

When our neighbor’s tree came down, it yanked the city electrical lines partially out of our house. Austin Energy shut off our power immediately, requiring repairs before it could be restored. Losing electricity—and air conditioning—in the middle of an Austin summer meant we needed a solution fast. Randy at Malco Electric quickly assessed the situation and noted the large oak beside our house would continue to pose problems. He outlined three possible solutions, the most practical being to relocate the electric boxes from the side of the house to the front, away from the tree. By the very next day, Randy had secured City approval for his plan, and the following day he had everything fully restored. We couldn’t be happier with the work—his quick thinking and efficient execution got our electricity and AC back online without delay.

After a tree took out my power line, Malco owner Randy Mallory visited (in the rain) to determine how to repair my home electric. He is extremely experienced: he knew what was needed and how to accurately describe it in a bid that was understood - and accepted - by my insurance. I needed an entirely new system: a pole installed from the roof, a ground for the power, new electrical boxes outside and inside the house, plus a heavier drop line from the City. Randy knows City of Austin requirements: there were no surprises during install or for the inspection. In addition to the repair, I asked to add a 4-prong, 30-amp line for a new electric dryer. The system that Randy created is expandable for future upgrades, such as a plug for an electric vehicle. The Malco crew did a fantastic job with the entire install -- they excel as a professional team. Malco Electric has made my home safer and added to its value. I am grateful for the care they took to bring my electrical system into compliance with the City.
