I attended a holiday dinner tonight that was prepared by Masterpiece Cuisine. What a joke! The catering was dismal, as was the food. The SCA Italian Club threw a holiday party for its members and because the party was held on site at Sun City Anthem, the club was forced by contract to use Masterpiece Catering for the party. Since we were a captive audience, it felt like Masterpiece put forward less effort than required to provide a professional event. The party cost $65 and was poorly executed from the very beginning. The first course was a salad that was literally swimming in dressing! It was like "Do you want a little salad with your dressing?" and not the other way around. Next came the entrees. There were two selections of protein, beef or fish. Unacceptably, Masterpiece served all of the beef dishes first and THEN served all of the fish dishes. This meant that half of the guests at our table had food FIFTEEN minutes before the other half. What a disgrace! Now a word about the quality of the entrees. Everyone at our table said that their food was cold. Every single person. Nobody wants to eat cold beef or shrimp! I ordered the shrimp with linguini. The shrimp were boiled and then thrown into a very watery sauce. Any good Italian knows that pasta should NEVER have a watery sauce! (This was the Italian Club party, after all.) The asparagus garnish was also pathetic - it was limp and droopy! So was the broccoli rabe on the meat dish. See photos below. A last observation on Masterpiece's service is that they started breaking down the tables while the party was still going on. They cleared our water glasses while we were on the dance floor! So thirsty dancers had nothing to drink. I guess that Masterpiece wanted to save money and dismiss their staff as soon as they could. With all of the above issues, my best guess is that Masterpiece "cheaped out" on having enough staff to run food to the tables while it was hot. Or possibly, they don't have the organizational sense to plan for a party of 200 people. Either way, I sincerely hope that Masterpiece and Sun City Anthem take serious steps to improve their food and catering! Unfortunately, I have another party on Wednesday that will be catered by Masterpiece. I may post some more thoughts after that event.

Event planning was easy and quick with Rebecca. She was very responsive to emails and questions. Servers Veronica and Sean were great. So efficient in setting up, making sure the guests had everything they needed. The luncheon food was delicious. This is the second time I have used Masterpiece and I will definitely use them again!! Thank you!

We had Masterpiece Cuisine cater our event last week, and they were absolutely incredible! The food was delicious — I received nonstop compliments from our guests all evening. Mike and his team were phenomenal. They arrived early, had everything perfectly prepped, and kept the service running seamlessly. As soon as training wrapped up, dinner was ready — perfect timing! They made my job effortless and the whole experience smooth from start to finish. It was such a pleasure working with them. Masterpiece Cuisine will be my top recommendation to my CCMC team and fellow Lifestyle Directors across the Las Vegas valley. I’m already looking forward to the next event together!

Masterpiece cuisine catered my husband’s 2 day 70th birthday celebration for 40 guests and I could not be more pleased and impressed with their service. They are attentive to detail, they handle everything and the food was delicious. I didn’t have to worry about anything so I too was able to enjoy myself. My guests raved about the food and the generous portions. I personally worked with Rebecca, she is easy to work with and a delight. With her experience she is able to offer suggestions and incorporate my own ideas as well. Her team members Holly and Bryce were on top of everything and were also engaging. Trent worked the brunch event. He was punctual and efficient in setting up. They will definitely be my go to and without any hesitation I 100% recommend them.

Might as well share the thank you letter I sent directly to Masterpiece Cuisine catering company after our event – it says it all! “Hi Rebecca, You beat me to it – I was heading to Google to leave an amazing review! From Chef Jason and the culinary team to the wildly accommodating front of the house staff, I couldn’t have been happier with the way they handled the entire event! They didn’t arrive on time, they arrived early. They all went right to work and allowed me to give a little speech at the beginning without getting annoyed with my micromanaging ways (your event captain is kindness personified). It means the world that they made such a long trip to help us celebrate such a special occasion as the new antenna at the VLA site for NRAO. I didn’t need to seek guests’ opinions out, because they sought me out during the party, offering up their praise of how fantastic the food presentation looked and tasted. The added flourish that one of the culinary specialists created by carving the watermelon in the shape of an antenna was noticed and appreciated by everyone! Each one of them 100% made this party a success; I couldn’t have done it without all of your help. I would gladly recommend you, Rebecca, and your team, to anyone looking for a top-tier, professional catering company.
