Bought car in as had a rear N/S toe adjustment bolt seized. I explained issue on phone and even bought a printed picture of the seized bolt when dropping off the car. Explained that the bolt goes into a bushing that is part of the toe control arm so the whole arm might need replacing if bolt is properly seized in there. Was told on the phone before bringing in the car that there was a £130 diagnostic fee. I queried this as I didn't need diagnostics after what I'd just explained, just wanted the job priced, but they said they couldn't do it over the phone and mechanic needed to see the car first to confirm (fair enough) and if a visual inspection was all that was needed then no charge. I was confident I had provided enough details to expect no diagnostic charge and bought it in. Got a call later to say price was £575 (£202.50 labour, £150 alignment, £223 for non-OEM Delphi control arm). Labour fine, alignment expensive but fine, but the part is £67 online! That markup is criminal! I know there will be a markup on parts but 300+% is not reasonable. I could source 2 premium hardrace control arms with much stiffer bushings and better adjustability for £160 each but they won't fit customer-supplied parts (completely fair), but I couldn't swallow that price for a cheap control arm. 50-100% maybe but 300%! I said no and was told I owed £67.50 for time spent on car which is listed on receipt as electric vehicle health check, which is not something I asked for or agreed to. I get that a mechanic spent time confirming what I told them and pricing up the job, but given I knew the problem going in and told them exactly what parts needed replacing and just wanted a price I feel that fee is unfair. I didn't get any info I didn't already have and came away with a lighter wallet. I spoke to the receptionist on the phone and a mechanic in the shop and everyone was professional and honest throughout (hence the extra star), but the 300+% markup on a non-OEM part and £67.50 fee for pricing a job which did not require diagnostics did not sit well with me as I was told I would not be charged a £130 diagnostic fee for a visual inspection and I wasn't but was then charged £67.50 for a vehicle health check that I was not told about and did not ask for. More transparency about being charged for pricing the job regardelss would have been appreciated. I've paid diagnostic fees before for issues I needed diagnosing, but when I've gone into a garage with a specific problem and I'm aware what parts need replacing I've not been charged for a quote! The 335% markup on a part is just robbery, no way you're not getting them cheaper at trade prices than I can find online too.

Took my car into mb Liverpool and cannot fault anything in the slightest. Prices spot on and cheapest around. Turn around for the car was quick easy and reliable. Great friendly and polite staff. Just to mention Scott was very professional and helpful getting me in for the work and making sure I was happy with the finished product. All in all very high standards of work and very professional.
