We love this ballet school! The teachers are very professional and truly passionate about ballet. The environment is warm, supportive, and very well-organised. The end of year show is always fantastic. Highly recommend!

Love Kalman's classes! He is a great teacher and I always feel encouraged and uplifted by them. The atmosphere of the class is professional, very positive and friendly, and, even though in my seventies, I never feel out of place. Melbourne Institute of Dance has given me a new lease of life. It's bliss to go back to the familiarity of a Classical Ballet Class. I can't recommend this school highly enough. Wish I had discovered it earlier. Marie

I've been trying to get back to dance, though my style has always been hip hop, I was inspired by my young kids to try ballet. I was nervous due to preconceived idea that you have to be super young to start though I thought why not give it a try. I tried a couple of places but Melbourne Institute of Dance and Kalman's teaching style is the only place where I've come back again and again... First class was nerve racking but the atmosphere, other amazing elderly dancers who I admire in awe and inspiration... but most of all, Kalman's style of teaching. It's a friendly, welcoming and warm environment and I would like to see how far I can challenge myself and body... I can only hope I can look as graceful, young and fit as some of the beautiful ladies and gents in this class. I appreciate Kalman's encouragement and of others. What a beautiful studio!

Kalman is one of the best contemporary dance teachers in Australia. The classes are full of interesting choreography that challenge your spatial awareness and technique without stressing you out. The music choices are beautiful as well. The sessions are just delightful. Dancers attending all the classes across Ballet and Contemporary are kind and friendly. MIoD is a fantastic studio where you feel safe and nurtured by a friendly community.
