Merit is fantastic. Chicago is privileged to have an entire building dedicated to teaching and performing music. Merit offers classes for every type of musical instrument and vocal performance imaginable, all at different skill levels. They are generous at making sure that it is affordable for all families who want to send their kids. Their website and communication is very thorough. Sign your kids up for classes soon!

Wonderful environment for children! Everyone is patient and kind and the early childhood classes are perfect for kids trying to learn about sound and movement. At 18 months my grand-daughter began her classes and looks forward every week.

Our son’s experience at Merit has been life changing. The instructors are incredibly talented, and Tim Riordan does an amazing job of challenging his students and creates a tight knit bond between the members of the trombone studio..

I am very excited to do this review because Merit School of Music has a very holistic and comprehensive program that serves many local communities as well as specialized one on one classes with teachers who are masters at their instruments. My children began over 2 years ago in the Alegre Program in Pilsen and through their summer programming extended their learning to the main Merit building with group classes and individual classes. Today, they love their instrument and their teachers have been a guiding light for them to help them learn so many rhythims and songs. They have performed in over 10 performances gaining that valuable experience. They don't just teach music, they live it!!!!

Merit has flexible programming and accessible cost. The teachers are highly knowledgeable and talented and this allows them to tailor lessons to individual needs and keep students engaged. They are patient and mindful when correcting mistakes, while providing constructive feedback. They make learning fun and enjoyable in a positive learning environment.
