First things first, Mesquite street pizza and pasta is already located at an awkward spot downtown. We had a nice server that suddenly disappeared after a few minutes and we were serviced by different people afterwards that can only be described as the most uncommunicative bunch. First we ordered the “famous” big red margaritas. The margaritas come with a side of plastic from the big red.The server did not check our ID and only did when she was scolded by another member of staff. We already had the drinks so it felt like an awkward attempt for a cover up. We also ordered the knots as an appetizer and they were extremely hard. It’s advertised everywhere that it takes a long time for food to come as it is “authentic”, we waited and my partner got her plate which was a chicken bacon pasta. Around 20 minutes passed and a member of staff noticed I still didn’t have my plate so he came and re appeared with it. We could finally eat and unfortunately the wait was not worth it at all. Both plates were so smothered with salt and we couldn’t even finish them and declined to take the meals as leftovers. The best thing that we ate and enjoyed there, were the one breadstick each with our meals.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Unique Dining Experience Blending Great Food, Nostalgia, and Live Entertainment Mesquite Street Pizza offers far more than your average pizza night—it’s a vibrant, memorable destination that combines flavorful food with a welcoming, character-rich atmosphere and unexpected entertainment. From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the nostalgic charm of the space. The walls are filled with vintage decor, personal messages, and character, and one particularly fun feature stood out: guests are invited to sign their name directly on the brick wall. It’s a lighthearted, interactive touch that instantly makes you feel like part of the Mesquite Street family. Adding to its unique identity, the restaurant features a full comedy club upstairs, and a performance stage on the main floor where they regularly host live shows and well-known comedians. This truly makes it more than just a restaurant—it’s an entertainment venue and a local hotspot for laughter, live performances, and community vibes. Whether you’re there for the food or a show (or both), it delivers on experience. Our server, Natalie, provided outstanding service. She was not only attentive and professional but also incredibly helpful when it came to offering recommendations—not just from the menu, but also for things to do around Corpus Christi. Her local insights and friendly demeanor made our evening even more enjoyable. As for the food, we sampled several items: • The pizza was excellent—crispy on the outside, soft inside, with a great balance of toppings and cheese. A standout. • The house salad was fresh, well-portioned, and nicely dressed. • I also tried the spaghetti and meatballs, which, while decent, wasn’t quite as bold or flavorful as expected. The sauce was milder and less tomato-forward than I prefer, though the meatballs were cooked well and nicely textured. Parking was also surprisingly convenient for a downtown location. I was able to pay just $1.50 for two hours at a nearby meter, which was more than enough time for dinner and made the entire visit smooth and hassle-free. In summary, Mesquite Street Pizza is a Corpus Christi gem. Between the welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, great food, and the added bonus of live comedy and entertainment, it offers a well-rounded and memorable night out. I’ll absolutely be returning to explore more of the menu—and hopefully catch a show while I’m at it.

This food was amazingggg! We all tried a bit of everyone’s food and it was all really good expect for the Fettuccine Alfredo. The Mac N’ Cheese pasta was so flavorful and well balanced. I really enjoyed my pizza! Our server Yulissa was really chill and nice! You do have to wait an awhile for the food but it’s definitely worth it!
