We cannot say enough good things about Sid and Metairie Music Academy. My 6-year-old has been taking electric guitar lessons with Sid for just three weeks, and the progress has honestly blown us away. Sid is phenomenal with kids. He knows exactly how to keep a young child engaged, focused, and, most importantly, excited to learn. He constantly builds confidence, sets realistic practice expectations, and encourages effort without pressure. Because of that, my son is already playing a basic song after only three weeks. If you’ve ever wondered whether guitar lessons are “too early” for a 6-year-old, Sid will prove they’re not. Three weeks in, my kid is already playing songs, asking to practice, and genuinely proud of himself. Any teacher who gets a 6-year-old excited to practice before school is doing something very right. Sid doesn’t just teach guitar, he builds confidence and makes kids believe they can do hard things. This is what great teaching looks like. Sid also encourages parents to watch the lessons and be involved in practice at home, which has made a huge difference for us. The academy is run out of Sid’s home, and the environment is comfortable, welcoming, and perfect for kids. If you’re looking for a music teacher who truly connects with children and inspires them to love their instrument, Sid is the guy. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Metairie Music Academy, and I would recommend Sid without hesitation to any parent.

My children, 16 and 11, have learned and grown so much in the 8 months we have taken lessons. We have enjoyed watching them expand their knowledge of theory and appreciation of different genres. We are excited to expand to guitar this summer on top of piano and voice. This has been a great experience.

My voice is stronger and doesn't get raspy as often while giving presentations. I'm also learning how to adjust my singing style!
